UAB School of Dentistry

I love being apart of the process. They let me watch everything my kids was having done while getting her braces. They are so friendly. The lady at the orthodontic front desk is the best. Also our doctors are great. Plus I love that they are cheaper than everywhere else.

Realize I had neglected dental care.. Annual teeth cleanings are not enough.

Monitored by experienced staff.. DR Cheema, my dentist is compassionate, knowledgeable, & brilliant. The Staff works together to solve your dental issues & concerns.. Have patience when you go.. It is a school... ❤️. Mr D Dee

My student was great she always communicated with me answered all my questions the problem happened after she graduated. I had a partial made before she graduated and was to have another student deliver it to me. Well after 3 visits because the partial didn't fit my mouth correctly I seen another student and Dentist that realized I couldn't wear the partial at all. The supervisor on the 2nd floor was brought in to look at it and agreed. She told me I could have a new one made or a refund. I said I wanted a refund. The student had the paperwork signed told me i could keep the partial or throw it away well luckily I didn't throw it way because after several calls trying to get my refund i was told they needed the partial before they could refund my money. So I had to drive all the way back to Birmingham to return the partial That was in September 2022 and here it is January 2023 and several left voice mails with no return calls later and I still have not received my refund. Beware if you are due a refund you might not receive it. I want stop until I get my money even if I have to go to small claims court.

I love them! Great service, beautiful people. I would love to stay here but, I must pay and have the insurance company reimburse me which is hard living on just my income. I just wanted to say thank you.

Highly qualified, at 50, I am no longer terrified of the dentist. I have a small mouth, and I'm difficult to numb. I usually have split corners of my mouth following a dental visit, and I had none for the first time. Such a relief!

I waited months and drove 2 and 1/2 hours each way this past Friday to come here. I have an extensive amount of dental work needed and was over the moon about finally being able to get the help I need. I wasted $100 on absolutely nothing. Not to mention missing a works day. They have highly increased the rates. It was more than affordable dentures and equivalent to my local dentist prices. (I have been to a few) How can a website advertise savings and why would I allow students to do my work if I can have any dentist do the work for the same price. Not to mention multiple trips because it is students. I’m ok with the drive and allowing students to do my work and multiple trips if It saves me money but this felt like a total scam. I addressed the front desk with my concerns as I was in total disbelief and she had “sh*t to do” so I was supposed to receive a call yesterday. That call never came as I expected. Just beware because this program is not what it used to be. I am unbelievably disappointed. I didn’t want free work but I thought this was a place for me someone who works HARD but can not afford 4k. The resident just left me sitting in the chair upset and never came back. Do your research before thinking your receiving a good price here. I have multiple estimates for my dental work and UAB dental school was the same price as everywhere. :(

We absolutely love the ortho and pediatric department! My daughter has a huge amount of anxiety when it comes to the dentist and UAB has most definitely catered to her fears! We are just now starting the process of getting my daughter braces and she is actually excited! Wonderful and professional staff!

The dental school is a blessing for the working poor of Alabama. I am blessed to have access to such a wonderful experience here. I neglected my complete dental care until a emergency treatment was necessary. 11 October 2022 most of the Dental school students were on fall break. I was fortunate to be cared for by a highly specialized emergency oral surgeon. The "Pina colada" numbing agent applied prior to the needles going into the upper jaw bone 😳 no pain. A little pressure but,no pain. Totally recommend 👌 for your to visit here if you have limited income, zero insurance. I had a top shelf surgical procedure for pennies on the Dollar. I promised my Dr. 5 🌟

I took a friend who needed an emergency tooth extraction. They take walk-in's @ 7:30 for emergencies. It's 1st come 1st serve, so get there early. UAB is a teaching hospital so dental residents do the work overseen by an experienced dentist. They take appointments as well. $85 for an extraction & $45 for x-rays. The end, carry on as u were 🙂

If you want cheap dental care feel free to go here, but keep in mind that the cheap route isn’t always the best. My experience with UAB has been awful and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. I had 3 root canals performed over 6 months ago and still haven’t gotten my crowns! (Partial or permanent). Also the bonding agent they used for the post and core build up is terrible and chips off in a week at the most. And they don’t mind making you wait in pain. Also, the students that I worked with were so unorganized with terrible manners while always making excuses as to why they weren’t there on the days of your appointments.
