Smile Today - Dentist Scottsdale

I have been going here since I moved to AZ. I loved the office when I Started. Unfortunately since COVID has been many Dr and staff turn around, it feels sterile and quiet kinda corporate. NOT THE STAFF ISSUE BUT CORPORATE ISSUE.

I've been a patient of Waterfront Dentistry in Old Town Scottsdale for several years. They recently closed their office and referred all of their patients to two different dentist offices in the area. I chose to be referred to Smile Today. I spoke with them several weeks ago and got an appointment scheduled for 4pm today. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to find that they close at noon on Fridays. Imagine that one of your competitors closes their business and GIVES you all of their clients and the first thing you do is screw it up by wasting their time! I left work early for this. Looks like I'm looking for a new dentist on my own.

I am beyond happy with my treatment while in this practices care. The staff are extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They explain everything and don’t make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them when you ask questions. I am so happy I found this practice and plan on coming back here for all my oral health needs. I really like that they worked together to make decisions regarding my treatment plan.

The dentist is one of the most uncomfortable places to visit, but Smile has it down to an exact science! I was comfortable and not anxious and every single staff member was friendly and smiling! My entire family uses this dentist office and we don’t have one complaint! They give it to you straight and don’t over price services. Great job!

Everyone in the office was very friendly. There was a 40 min delay to my appointment due to one of their hygienists calling in sick, but they were very apologetic about it. Dr. Dawson was very knowledgeable and thorough.

Dr. Dawson and all of his office staff are very welcoming and professional. Made what usually would be an extremely stressful , anxiety filled event very easy to get through. Highly recommend!

These people are great! I had a not so fun experience with my old dentist/hygienist and wanted to find a new place. Both dentist and the hygienist were patient, professional, and didnt they to push any procedures on you. This place will definitely be my new dentist!

I should have written this review ages ago, specifically April of 2018. Yet, I wasn’t comfortable reviewing places on Google at the time.

Smile Today a clean dental practice, with a friendly hygienist.
They are in a safe location.

At the time of my appointment my suggested the removal of two teeth and extensive work on several cavities I possessed. The estimated cost of my procedure would total around $1,300 and could potentially receive up charges. I have never in my life received such a suggestion by a dentist. I take very good care of my teeth, with the occasional gingivitis, and was voted “whitest smile” in high school. My family dentist back in Texas has always told me I’m one of his “best patients”, and that he “actually meant it.” I told my father about the appointment and their recommendation. He couldn’t believe Smile Today’s recommendations. I also informed my best friend who has extensive dental experience, they were also shocked. I went to get a second opinion at the local county clinic. I went through the entire procedure and the dentist at Yavapai Community Health Center said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth; “that they were in perfect condition.”

I give this company two stars because of the friendliness of its hygienist. She was sweet and competent. Her ability to prepare x-rays and my cleaning were done well.

I particularly like that this location cleans teeth with a high pressured water system versus the antiquated scraping tools.

The crown they put on me keeps falling off. I called for an appointment to fix it and was told on the phone that this repair would be free because it was less than 1 year since the prior work on the same crown. After arriving in the office, they presented a "plan for care" stating I would need to pay ~ $400. I thought it was a harmless confusion. But no, they dug in on the price. Poor workmanship. Bait and switch billing. Other problems. This office was better several years ago when it was under different management.

I was visiting Scottsdale and a crown on one of my teeth came off. Fortunately I was able to catch the crown. Even better, Smile Today was able to see me on the same day and did exactly what was needed to allow me to continue enjoying my time with my family. The staff was efficient, professional, and courteous. Thanks!
