Downtown Dental

Downtown Dental is the best dental office in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles! I just got 3 fillings done by Dr. Mungcal and his assistants Susie and Alex, and let me say that they were terrific!!! No pain and my teeth feel better than ever! I ate some subway after treatment and did not have a problem :) Thank you so much to everyone at Downtown Dental for taking such gentle care of me and making me feel at ease!!! Cannot wait for my next dental appointment :-)

I've been going to Downtown Dental for over 4 years now and this place is awesome! Dr. Mungcal is really knowledgeable, very thorough and always has a big smile on his face when I see him. I'm really bad about flossing and my hygienist Allison always knows when I'm falling behind on taking care of my teeth. Everyone at the front desk is super friendly and always ask me how I am doing. I work freelance so I always have to reschedule my appointments and its always easy to call in and reschedule. The thing I like most about Downtown Dental is that they send me periodic text messages to remind me about my appointments, so I know if I have to reschedule. If you're thinking to yourself, "how can this place get any better?". There's free parking in their garage!

If your looking for an efficient friendly office... Downtown Dental is the place to go. Everyone at this office is really nice, I like how they take the time to answer any questions that I had.

They took my dental insurance which makes everything easier. What I appreciate the most is that they have a parking garage and validate for my entire appointment. The doctor and dental hygienist were thorough.

I recommend this dental office to anyone who needs a new dentist!

I have had a very positive experience at Downtown Dental. Allison has been exceptionally patient and helpful. Overall the environment is positive. They put me on a complete program to fix my dental issues. Most dentist experiences I have feel like a mass production. They take time with each patient at downtown dental. I highly recommend them!

This place has been my dentist my whole life and I won't consider going anywhere else. Everyone is nice and accommodating and the doctor knows his stuff. I just had pinhole gum rejuvenation surgery and the results are awesome. The staff really looks out for your best interest and the doctor will assure you have a great smile...pain free too..

I have never liked going to the dentist but the staff at downtown dental are always professional, friendly and always make me feel at ease. I travel 40-50 min just to go to them. Priyam is great hygienist. Gentle, fast and always leaves my teeth clean and smooth. I highly recommend her.

I have always been afraid of the dentist! When I first moved to LA and started going to Downtown Dental. It is super convenient for me and Allison, Fern, Dr. Mungcal and all the staff have always made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I have had a few crowns which have been lengthy procedures but no complaints at all!! Happy to recommend my new dentist to all my family and friends!!

Generally I hate the dentist and avoid going at all costs, but I'm new to LA and needed to find a new regular dentist. I was referred to Downtown Dental by Youstina and I'm so glad I went. Allison, Brenda, and the rest of the team made sure I was comfortable and talked through every step of my visit. Happy to call this my new regular office.

I normal don't do well with dentists and I've found Downtown Dental to be totally different! I recently got some work done and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result and the service I received. I'd like to say thank you to Dr. Mungcal and the lovely dental assistants in the front office as well. Even though it's only five stars, I give them a 10/10 recommendation!

I was a patient here from 2019 to 2021 before I moved out of LA. Most of the cleaning visits were fine. However, anyone who goes here should be aware that they may try to force Invisalign on you.

My previous dentist in a different state offered Invisalign, but they never mentioned it to me. In fact, they often mentioned that my teeth were in good shape in terms of alignment. However, on my first visit to Downtown Dental in LA, I had x-rays taken, and upon inspection, the dentist told me that I needed Invisalign due to the poor alignment in my back teeth. I was a student at the time and didn't have a steady enough income stream to consider it, so I told them that I would hold off. Next time I go in, they tell me that they "found a discount" on Invisalign, even though they knew that I was still a student and still didn't have the income stream to afford it. On a later visit, I had a different dentist, who proceeded to provide me with a completely different reason for needing Invisalign, wholly unrelated to the reason the initial dentist provided.

So, it seemed that they were ultimately trying to pull a fast one on me as a patient because, I assume, they have a financial incentive to sign up as many patients as possible for Invisalign. This was ultimately confirmed after I moved and made my first visit to a dentist in my new location. I asked them whether Invisalign was necessary, and she and the hygienist both said that there was absolutely no need and were shocked that anyone would suggest it in the first place. So, if you are going to go to Downtown Dental, beware that they might use coercive settings and tactics to force Invisalign on you. If they do, strongly consider getting a second opinion.
