Plaza Dentistry - Dentists in Rancho Bernardo Ca

On Sept 10, 20 Dr Raza called to rectify the problem detailed below. I felt compelled to upgrade the review from 1 to 3 because of his professionalism; however, we can not delete our review because it is real. Our experience in July 2020 was as below:
My son and myself were seen at this office last week.
1. They remove their masks while seeing patients in a confined environment and it seems like it a trend there - at least 3 of them did while myself and my son were there.
2. The office assistant, VIRGINIA is very rude with complete luck of professional manners in any shape and form. See full story below.
3. When you bring up the mask problem to them, with GENUINE effort to return if that would be corrected, they don't try to solve the problem. I called the office this morning to mention about the masks, in an effort to see if they could hear at least from clients. I spoke to Virginia. She told me up to my face that they have other patients to serve, she cut me off, She did not even let me finish talking. I was shocked by her reaction.
Full story: I was looking for a new dentist in the area. I went to Escondido Family Dental Care to try them out. While Dr. Raza himself seems to be a friendly person and nice, the lady who run the office, Virginia is very rude.

First, I had an appointment for cleaning. I was there for 2 hours, and they ended up only taking xrays. Nothing else for me. After taking xrays, Virginia told me to go in the lobby and wait to be called in again. They had already finished cleaning my son. I sat there from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. After 2 hours at the office, Virginia sent me home and told me to call again for another day for cleaning. I was confused about that to begin with. There was no explanation whatsoever.

Second: When Virginia called me in to go over the treatment plan for my son, any question I would ask he about the plan, her only answer was "I am not the one who diagnosed him, I am only reading what is written.", she repeatably said that rudely. The Dr. came in and did a good job answering those questions for me, but I wondered why she called me in office to go over the treatment plan if she can't answer a single question or at least politely relate to patients by stating that the Dr. himself will do it.
Last, wearing masks is not consistent, and it is not taken seriously in their office. The hygienist who saw my son had her mask completely removed while my son's mouth was full open for a good period of time. When I politely reminded her to put her mask back on, she gave me a cold shoulder kind like "you can't tell me what to do" type of look. Virginia herself removed the mask while she went over the treatment plan with me. Dr. Raza himself, though he is at least nice, removed his mask when explaining things to me.
My family will never see this office again. My husband who was an already established client of theirs will never go back there again.

Such a great dentist! Very friendly and Dr.Raza is a super funny guy :) didn’t feel like I was waiting forever and the cleaning felt very thorough. Definitely would recommend!

Dr. Mehran Raza and team are amazing. Every service I've had, they have made it painless and as comfortable as possible. The staff is so professional and inviting, you feel like you're a part of their family. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Mehran Raza and staff!

I came in a couple of weeks ago for a broken tooth, I was able to set an appointment that same day which was surprising! Everyone in the front office was extremely welcoming and helpful. They took my insurance which was great and helped me every step of the way to go over coverage and what I would pay out of pocket since I had multiple root canals and crowns that needed to be placed. Dr. Raza is extremely skilled and I appreciate the humor and constant emotional support asking if I was okay or if I was in any pain, we all know how much we don’t like the dentist so this definitely helped with moral support! I will say as long as I live in San Diego I will only be coming to this dentist office since everyone is really nice and the customer service exceeded my expectations. Thank you everyone for knowing my name and being open to appointment adjustments to my needs as far as scheduling. I would highly recommend Dr. Raza to any of my personal friends or family, you’re making the right decision!

I love everything about this place!! All the staff from the receptionists to the doctors are extremely friendly and professional. I had a root canal done and you would have thought it was just a regular filling based off the minimal discomfort I had. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mehran Raza to anyone seeking dental care.

I am very afraid of going to the dentist but Dr.Raza and his staff have gone above and beyond my expectation.
Now I know the meaning of a five star Dental office which is not only hygienically pleasing but also aesthetically beautiful as well with flat screens everywhere. Thank you for all you have done for me! I would highly recommend this office! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dr. Raza and staff are absolutely wonderful! They are so welcoming and professional at the same time. Smiling all the time! I just had a tooth implant and although it was a long process, it looks perfect. So natural. If you’re looking for a great dentist and staff, call Dr. Raza!

Wonderful office. The staff is awesome! The receptionist is so sweet and professional and the hygienist is extremely professional, kind, and thorough. My teeth feel soooooo clean. The dentist has a great sense of humor which is refreshing and he seems to care very much about my oral health. Overall wonderful experience and am looking forward to my next cleaning in October! ◡̈
