Five stars for five reasons: 1) Dr. Shahrokh was insistent that my crown be perfect; 2) everyone was very professional and concerned about my comfort; 3) the office staff were pleasant and helpful; 4) the treatment area is open, pleasant, and comfortable; 5) I don’t have insurance, and his services are reasonably priced. Dr. Shahrokh and his entire staff are excellent to work with and always provide us with a positive dental experience. This even includes my 4yr old!! I was very impressed with the convenience of same day partial crown capabilities for my husband. The process was fast, efficient and we were grateful to avoid future follow-up visits or appointments. I particularly love the great level of detailed communication and great customer service. We are very happy with this practice and would recommend this experience to anyone in need!

Unfortunately during the unprecedented times, many businesses have shut their doors, fortunately for me I found San Marcos Dental Studio. Dr. shahrokh was able to immediately fit me on to a relative quick appointment as I was having severe pain. My visit was quick, service was great, exceeding my expectations. Dr. Shahrokh is a very knowledgeable, empathetic professional through his patient centered approach. He does not try to push you for work to be done, but makes you fully aware of where you stand as far as work that “needs” to be done. If you are one of those people that fears going to the dentist, or is looking for a better experience, this is the place. It’s unfortunate HMO is not accepted here, but I will personally be coming back for as much work as I can.

As a person who has struggled with dentists in the past, Dr. Shahrokh was the most gentle and kind dentist I have ever experienced! Not only are they true to prices based on your insurance, there is no “up selling”, and the whole staff is extremely honest in my experience. Hi everyone! I want to share a recent experience I had, with the community, in hopes that it does not happen to anyone else. I am on the spectrum, and unfortunately sometimes get taken advantage of because of this.
Dr. Babak Shahrokh, at San Marcos Dental Studio, filed a fraudulent claim for work he did not perform, and was paid by my insurance company. Because of this, I am unable to actually get work done on this tooth.
Due to Dr. Babak Shahrokhs fraudulent claim, my insurance company will not allow me to get a crown placed on this tooth for 10 years moving forward. I will unfortunately lose this tooth due to the situation.
I have done the following-
*Contacted San Marcos Dental Studio by phone/requested my files via email (they will not speak to me or return my emails) (Federal HIPAA laws and state law govern patient right to access health records. State law is California Health and Safety Code
Section 123100-123149.5.)
*Contacted my insurance company/Filed a fraud claim with my insurance company's fraud department (currently going through a lengthy process, and waiting to hear back)
*Filed a claim with the Dental Board (3 year review process)
*Contacted San Diego Dental Society (They cannot hold a peer review, as the Dr is not a member of this society)
Thank you for reading this. It has been a time/energy consuming situation, and has not been easy to handle while working full time as a single parent. I just want to make sure no one else has to go through this!

Almost forgot this review forum. Just to share my experience...
Unfortunately less than a star isn't a choice on yelp/ Google review but don't get me wrong I will shine a very bright light on this scam of a practice.
Trying to save your tooth?
Want to make sure you are treated fairly with honest prices?
Want a simple estimate range of what a typical filler may cost?
How about just being able to trust a "healthcare provider" to not take advantage of you in a time of need?
If you answered yes to a single one of these very obvious questions....
Stay away.
A simple price estimate for a maintenance cleaning was about as painful as pulling teeth, guess the roles were reversed on that one.
Best practice is to get a second opinion... best practice here is to simply go somewhere else.
