Do not trust this practice! I booked an appointment several months ago - the earliest that they had for a new patient was several months away at that time. They told me that they were in-network for my insurance - They simply said "yes, we are" - No caveats. Tonight, about a week before my appointment, I got an email stating, basically, that they had not gotten the raises that they wanted from my insurance company (which I'm told is one of the largest and most generous in DC) and would no longer be in-network! The communication cast a binary decision - they would either cut care or costs - Apparently cutting their profit margins (or just not increasing them) was not an option?! Strongly recommend finding another dental practice!

I really like the dentists at Modern Dentistry: Everyone there were all super nice and professional. However, the amazing doctors at Modern Dentistry caused me a lot of unnecessary pain. Let me explain.
I was there last month with a cold sensitivity in one of my molars. I was told that the sensitivity was due to receding gum line, and to brush with Sensodyne toothpaste. It didn't help, so I went in again and was told again it was receding gum line, and was prescribed a stronger toothpaste.
I went to San Francisco for vacation two days later, and while in San Francisco I had this excruciating pain in that tooth. Like so much pain I feel like I was dying. I went to an emergency dentist, and sure enough, the sensitive tooth was fractured, which caused the nerve to start to die from inside. I had an emergency root canal, and my entire vacation was ruined.
The root canal should have happened before it got really bad to spare me the pain. I mean, I still like the people at Modern Dentistry, but their misdiagnosis definitely left a permanent bad taste in my mouth.

My last appointment was a couple of months ago, and involved adjustments on my new lower dentures; which were successful in preventing further chaffing of cheeks and gums.
