Atlantic Florida Dental

My filling they did fell out the next day on a Friday, I had to fly Monday. They would not fix it or reimburse me. Had to go to a better dentist in plantation. Piss poor workmanship and customer service would only be an improvement here.

I cracked a molar on a Saturday, so I found this dentist via Google.
I called and asked if they took my insurance (a very GOOD/TOP TIER INSURANCE PPO) and they said yes, so I booked a time slot.
The appointment process was easy and when I arrived they did several x-rays. The tech was very polite.
The dentist was another story. Dr. Meskin. AVOID THIS DENTIST.
1) He immediately told me I needed an extraction, a bone graft, an implant or a bridge.
It was thousands of dollars worth of work. I wondered why they needed to remove the tooth. Then I asked them how much the Insurance would cover.
2) They told me that I would have to pay cash and then "haggle" with my insurance afterwards. This seemed bizarre to me. Why would I have to haggle if I had insurance that would cover at least 60% of any major procedure?
3) The dentist gave me the estimate and told me to schedule another appointment after I "spoke with my husband". As if I'm not a grown woman who pays for our insurance policy and can make decisions regarding my dental health on my own.
4) COVID-19 is real and it has changed the way that medical professionals conduct exams and procedures. I am immunocompromised due to an autoimmune disease. So you can imagine how TERRIFYING AND CRAZY INVASIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL it was when while I was finishing my dental appointment, the dentist removed his mask while hovering over me in the chair. I don't know this person. And I certainly didn't want him hovering over me and breathing his germs all over me while I was in a vulnerable position under his care. I quickly scrambled to put my mask back on and at no point did he appear to realize that this was unacceptable and totally against CV19 protocol. I was horrified.
5) I found another dentist. TLC Dental and Orthodontics nearby. Much more professional. They saved my tooth. Root canal and crown. And it was $750 with my insurance. Not the $4800 in cash that these crooks wanted to pull out a tooth that could have been saved.
6) THESE PEOPLE JUST WANT MONEY. They will recommend the most EXPENSIVE treatment and strong arm you for cash. Even if you have insurance.
7) When my new dentist called them for my x-rays, they refused to send them. When I called for them, AS THEY ARE MY OWN MEDICAL RECORDS, I was told that I could not have them.
8) This place is garbage. AVOID.

Update: this dentist wants to speak to me privately, as per their response to my review. However, I read all the reviews and there is another that mentions that Dr. Meskin HABITUALLY takes his mask off. There is nothing to discuss after that. This is a problem and you have not addressed it.
You can try to excuse away trying to rob me for money and extract saveable teeth, but not that your dentist puts people in danger of a deadly virus. Thanks.

Very pleasant atmosphere, doctor was very personable and took time to explain everything. Luckily I need just routine care of my teeth;
I also like that they have Saturday hours!

My first experience with getting my tooth pulled everyone in the office was supportive and make me feel calm. Found my new dental office and will refer my friends and family i love it !!!

Very impressed with the service there. Very caring staff. The Dentist called the check on my husband's condition overnight. Thank you for caring.

Five star review I highly recommend Dr. Meskin wonderful experience as implants go, I put off having one for a long time because I thought I had to be put to sleep And that it would be very painful but neither of those proved to be true Dr Meskin was very professional with local anesthetic he is very dedicated to his work

Theae guys wouldnt do what I wanted he aaid it had to be a crown.. even though I practically begged them for a bonding... I called prosthodontic associates in hallandale and they met me same day and did the bonding in 20 minutes no problems and a great job... Im disappointed in atlantic florida dentistry for not doing what was obviously possible and what i wanted and trying to encourage me to do something that wasnt nessesary and more expensive..i wont be using them again..

Dr Meskin is very friendly and attentive. The prices are great and he does great work as a dentist.
