Island Dentistry

Great experience yesterday getting my teeth cleaned by Sara! Everyone in this office works so hard to make you feel comfortable and explain everything you need in detail. Would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a caring dentist and staff!

I cannot say enough nice things about Island Dentistry! I had a filling yesterday, and the dentist, Dr. Scales, just called me to check on me! I've never had this happen before at any medical office. How thoughtful! I'm happy to report I am feeling great, and the entire experience was above and beyond expectation. No pain during the procedure, not even from the novocaine shot. I couldn't even tell when the doc did it. Very professional front desk staff, easy scheduling, and relaxing, beautiful office. I live in St. John's, but still make the 30 minute the drive to Fleming to see Dr. Scales. I've been going to this practice for over 10 years, and am impressed every time.

Every part of the business is clean and well kept. The staff at the front desk are extremely nice and helpful. The staff in the back is exceptional. But what stands out is the fact that Dr. Scales takes a few minutes out of his busy day to call his patients and make sure that their experience was everything it should be and that the patient has no further issues. True professionalism.

Had a tooth that was almost gone, but Dr Scales saved it! Throughout the process, he has been very diligent with oversight after the work was completed to ensure complete success. Of course the actual saving the tooth was a little stressful, but Dr Scales made sure that there was no pain - it was just my anticipation of pain which never happened. Both he and the staff are down to earth people and the experience has been very positive. Convenient location, HAPPY staff and good work....so what else is there! :-) I am extremely satisfied with overall experience and feel "worth what paid for!"

Customer service was absolutely amazing from the time we walked in and out. My kids weren't as stressed being new patients with Island Dentistry team, they made them feel very comfortable and relaxed. Clean atmosphere and even offer free Keurig coffee, tea and water bottles in the waiting room. LOVE IT!!!!

Island Dentistry, Dr. Douglas K.Scales and his Associates are so professional, knowledgeable, and caring and always go that extra mile to make my children and I feel so welcome and accommodating. The other day I was even given a call back to have both my sons get their appts in on the same day after I had accepted appts for separate days. For many years I had a fear of seeing the dentist. One day my mom sat an appointment with a dentist for me and the fear that developed caused me to run away for a few days as a teenager. So when I entered their office it was so welcoming and different. They talked to me, kept asking if I was ok. All the staff do their part very well. They put a plan together for me with my insurance and my budget and the work has made my smile and my eating much much better. In my opinion they are setting a great standard for the dentistry industry. I'm very pleased.

I feel very comfortable at Island Dentistry. Although I am always nervous prior to the appointment, the staff puts me right at ease. Lynn is a wonderful, gentle hygienist, and I feel that Dr. Scales is thorough and genuinely concerned about the patient's oral health. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone!

Island Dentistry is the best dentist I have ever visited. After a childhood of negative experiences at the dentist I have been hesitant to visit various dentists throughout my adult life. I found Island Dentistry as they provide dental care for our 8 foster care kids and have since become a patient myself. We love the staff, who know us all by name every time we visit, and the services are top notch!

Dr. Scales is an excellent dentist. My appointment went as scheduled and he made me feel very comfortable (I'm not a fan of the dentist chair!). The staff was also really friendly and you can watch TV while they work on your teeth. I highly suggest Dr. Scales if you live on Fleming Island! He's the best!
