Dr. Simon blatantly violated HIPPA in the worst way possible. There was no need for him to ask me that question at all, especially with other people present, no matter whom it is. It was marked in the forms filled out to start having work done. He must be fearful from stigma or homophobic. I don't hide my HIV status from anyone. My mother, who understandably doesn't fully understand, was the only one in the world I wanted to shelter from this information. I knew it would break her, and it did.
