Sometimes in life the geographic location of one’s choice of dentists and the professional skills and talents of the chosen dentist can serendipitously combine to generate an irresistible and most fortuitous lure that even so-called “insurance coverage” cannot break. Years ago a dear and fellow staffer at my former law firm recommended Dr. Larry Sayre (of 2301 Park Street) for my dental needs. I had the good fortune to follow up on her recommendation and for years kept returning to Larry Sayre and his staff for all dental needs. When I relocated from Jacksonville in 1985, I was sorry to leave behind such an excellent and talented dental professional. Little did I know then that one day, almost 22 years later, I would professionally relocate back to Jacksonville. Time stands still for no man, not even the most inveterate of antelope hunters or golfers. When I returned to Jacksonville in late 2006 and sought out Larry Sayre at his old location, I discovered that he had retired and sold his practice (and building sorely in need of major repairs) to Jacqueline West. Despite the upheaval of renovations, but lured to an old location staffed by a new and energetic dentist, I thought I would give Jacqueline West and her staff a try. Good fortune can indeed strike twice at the same location. She has done wonders with the old building, providing state of the art dental facilities and equipment. More importantly, she and her staff have proven to be cutting-edge professionals with skills and talents to match their welcome but in this day and age often surprising integrity. Recently I secured health and dental insurance coverage that Dr. West’s office did not honor. Reluctantly and with heavy heart I proceeded to change dentists, a change dictated by the need to follow the perceived insurance dollars. What a mistake that turned out to be. Fortunately it proved a short-lived one and upon discovering that “dental insurance” leaves much to be desired, was only too happy to return to 2301 Park Street and Dr. West and her staff. Jacqueline West has proven herself a most worthy successor to Larry Sayre as the chorus of holdover patients sings loud and clear. Ironically my law practice is now but a few blocks away from 2301 Park Street. However, whether a mile’s walk or a ten-mile drive, I am only too happy to have been lured back to my new-found but old dental home and West’s Dentistry.

Was having pain, clicking, and locking of my jaw due to TMJ. Almost immediately after using a special night guard by Doctor West basically all symptoms disappeared. Been 2 years and maybe a couple clicks a month (No Pain) compared to every time I opened my mouth before.
