Hawaii Family Dental - Aiea

I contacted the Hawaii Family Dental Center at Westridge to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was able to accommodate me with an appointment the next day which was convenient for me.

I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff. They were thorough reviewing the required documents I completed prior to my appointment. Staff member did indicate the delays they encountered in attempting to contact the insurance company. It was thoughtful that they acknowledged their attempts and apologized for the delay. I was happy they communicated with me as to the matter and it was perfectly acceptable.

Dr. Coloma and the dental assistant was very friendly throughout the consultation and procedure. They gave me options and their recommendation. The big picture was shown to me for each of the available options so I was made aware of my decision making and how it would affect my long term dental care.

Kristine was very helpful in explaining the insurance and billing aspects of the procedure that I chose. She gave options to choose from that were clear and concise. All with a pleasant smile and genuine caring attitude.

Overall, I had a very good experience and look forward to a continuing relationship with Hawaii Family Dental Center at Westridge.

This is a statement of my experience with my appointment at Hawaii Family Dental on July 30, 2020, I was greeted with a smile as i entered the doors. my temperature was taken and not long after I was taken into the examining room with Dr. Wu and his assistant. He was very caring when doing the exam. I would return to him for dental services and recommend him to anyone. I then had my cleaning done by Ms. Loraine. I was in such good hands with her. she took really good care of me explaining to me all that she was doing step by step. all the while providing care! Last but not least thank you to the staff and management team for making me feel comfortable as possible ! Mahalo Nui Loa!

Since the first day I stepped foot in the Hawaii Family Dental office in Aiea i have been beyond satisfied with their customer service! The reception staff are all very kind and welcoming. They are very friendly and treated me as if i were family. I felt like i've known them for years. My dentist, Dr. Strommer, is also very kind and beyond thorough. He makes sure to explain everything on my xrays and he even showed me diagrams on Google for further understanding. He has the sweetest and most gentle nurses and they both have been taking amazing care of me and my pearly whites. If you've had a scary or bad dental experience in the past you should really give Dr. Strommer and Hawaii Family dental Aiea a chance. I'm positive they will take away all your fears and leave you smiling from ear to ear!

I have been a client of Hawaii Family Dental-Aiea since they opened. The staff has changed over the decades, but the professionalism, warmth, and courtesy remains optimum. Kiana's friendly disposition did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. Her concern for my safety and comfort was reassuring especially with COVID 19. Dr. Alfredo Coloma's cheery outlook and genuine concern did an excellent review of the condition of my teeth. Over the years, he and the staff at HFD-Aiea has provided the excellent treatment to my dental needs. They are quick, efficient, and ensures that my safety and comfort are met. I am fortunate to have found HFD-Aiea way back when. I look forward to each and every visit knowing that I can rely on HFD-Aiea.

Upon entering HFD, Kristine always greets me with a smile and by name. The dental assistant(s), especially Rowena, are very knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. Dr. Wu always explains what he's doing and why, and constantly checks to see if I'm "okay". By far, he's my favorite dentist. Loraine Cross, RDH, is very efficient and also talks about how to care for my teeth and how to properly floss. The whole team are professionals, courteous, and makes me feel comfortable. It's always a pleasant "dental visit."

The first time I went to this dental clinic for an appointment I was told to arrive 30 minutes early and then made to wait an hour before being seen for an emergency dental issue. Then today I had an appointment made a week ago for a full exam, I arrived 20 minutes early and they took my payment for the services 2 min and 19 seconds before my scheduled time of 9am. my appointment time rolls up and then 40 minutes later I was still waiting. This facility is terrible when it comes to wait time and the accountability of dental employees but for sure they will take your money. I would suggest finding a better location.

Since a little girl, I feared going to the dentist and had been avoiding for 10 years. Which I had known it is long over due and I have to make a visit now. I decided to go to Aiea Westridge dental. The staff had scheduled me with Dr. Coloma for my 1st exam visit and had taken X-ray to see what is wrong with my teeth. Dr. Coloma said I had to get deep cleaning and a lot of cavities so I had to do fillings. They made sure I get an appointment right away to get all the visit I needed; filling, and deep cleaning. I am soo thankful that they had helped me as much as they could. Honestly, I usually get very nervous at a dentist office but the staff and doctor had made me feel soooo comfortable and at ease they made me feel like I’m family and I created a good bond with them. I noticed they love to dance and have a great time. All about them good vibes 😊 I would recommend for patients to get their teeth cleaned there. ❤️ I miss the staff already I would like to pay them a visit again soon. <3 Jaizah

Jared (hygienist) keeps you informed on what he is doing. Very polite by continually telling you “thank you” (you have to experience his personality). Dr Coloma gives you recommendations on what he sees to better your dental health.
I recommend Hawaii Family Dental, excellent for your dental needs!!

The staff from front desk to back working place are efficient and friendly. Had my teeth clean by Lauraine or Larraine and it was one of the best cleaning I ever had. Dr Coloma Is very professional as always. I highly recommend this clinic for your dental needs.
