I have high regard for Alexander Spivak, no doubts. Very thorough dentist.
The reason why I rated ONE star is because on my last visit 12/3/21, I was greeted by one of the office staff with NOT a good morning or hello. Instead, "This is the dollar amount that should be settled today". Their current accounting records will prove that I am NOT a "financial risk" patient. I always pay in full what is due.

UPDATE: new hygienist, Adam, is amazing. Friendly, funny and gave me great tips on keeping my teeth healthy! Reach with that brush to target my tarter prone read. My new dentist Alex is also a joy. Always great going to the dentist when they are friendly and care about your teeth and health, and not about the $$$. I recommend this place to everyone especially those who have had bad experiences with others!!! Mahalo Adam, Alex and the rest of the crew! I’m a patient for LIFE!!! 💞💞💞
been going to Hawaii Family Dental since 2017. Hadn’t gone for YEARS due to horrid experiences as a child/teenager with other dentists. Started going to Hawaii Family Dental because my mother had a dental emergency and her co-worker recommended them. They’ve been my go to ever since! They were welcoming from the get go! Recently got all 4 wisdoms pulled by Dr. Edgar. Both he and assistant Al put me at ease the entire time. They could tell I was nervous and scared and when it was all done, I felt silly for dreading it so! Immediately texted my girlfriend in the same situation and told her to call them and see if they can take her as a new patient and schedule her extraction! I’m looking forward to my next cleaning with Hygienist Shontell! Only had her once and after that session, she my girl! They are all the epitome of ALOHA! Shout out to Dr. Meyer! She my girl too! They are all awesome 🤗. Never fear when you are in the hands of Hawaii Family Dental!!! 💞💞 #LovingMySmile !!!

Low rating is not for my dentist, Alex Spivak. This is the best, kindest, thorough dentist I have ever been to. The low rating is for the front office personnel in the Hilo office. To say the least they are rude, snarky and not helpful to their patients. I have never been so poorly treated by anyone in a profession setting. If it weren't for Alex Spivak being there, I would have left a long time ago. I will follow him if he ever decides to leave there and unfortunately I will need to continue put up with the terrible front office just to see him. Please find front end people that represent the professionalism of your dentist. I have asked several times who I can talk to about these problems, but they will not give me any information.

I am so blessed to have gone to Hawaii Family Dental to get my teeth pulled by the grace of God Dr. Anani DID an AMAZING 👏 🙌 extraction with not only one BUT 3 OF'EM. If any one would ever need to extract or just a check up I would HIGHLY recommend her. Customer service is awesome too....mahalo

Dr Spivak was so easy to talk to and asked questions about things that had been done back when I was in the military. I was feeling very coffindent having him as my dentist when and if I need work done.

Outstanding. So first they got me an appointment on a Saturday. I was in severe pain. The team members were some of the most friendliest people I've met. Efficiency must be their mission statement for that is what I experienced. So the dentist Alexander Spivak found not one but three teeth that needed to be removed. Then to my amazement Alex set me up for the extractions at 11:00 AM on the same day. WOW. Alex has a great personality and he knows his stuff. Alex also informed me of what he was doing and when; all along the way he was ensuring I wasn't experiencing any pain. Alex and his team made this so great I don't mind going to the dentist now. We had 2 visits, I am happy with the services in this office so far. Dr. Peter Lee is our keiki dentist, him and his staffs were friendly, caring, and careful with the work that they do during this pandemic. Office, rooms that we were in, dental chair(?) equipments are all clean, and well sanitized. The implements that they use seem to be up to date. I also like their phone services. Because Hawaii family dental is all over the island there’s an operator who could assist with an appointment if the local office weren’t available. There’s online chat operator as well. So convenient in many ways to get contact to them.
