Dr, Mau, dentist, and Adam Zahn, dental hygenist, are the best! Truly extraordinary care and attention. And the staff could not be nicer and helpful..I'm in good hands here.

This place rocks! The people there are soooo friendly! Usually I’m a nervous wreck at a dentists office but the dentists and everyone else who works there are funny too so it really helps to put me at ease. I’d give them a 50/10.

got my kids cavities filled here, we had no idea it would look so obvious for the kids smile. i had no idea there were other options available until a family member saw my kids teeth and explained there are other options, I wish the dentist had covered the options with me before doing the work.

I have been seeing Dr. Hamakawa for the last two years. She pays attention to the patient and is very competent in taking care of various issues. I had a few fillings done as well as a crown. I feel very comfortable seeing her!!!

Hawaii Family Dental makes it cumbersome to place a Testimonial/Comment/Complaint on its website. No DIRECT link and makes you chase around to Yelp/Google. And note the only Testimonial comments are GLOWINGLY favorable to HFD!!!! In other words, they EXCLUDE critical comments. It's a set up. No transparency.
Many companies do this and think they can fool the public. Very insecure company. I can say this since I;m a customer. The phone oporators appparently not trained to Professionally answer calls. They speak too fast in sing songy Minnie Mouse voices requiring a customer to ask them to repeat what they just said. Again, no professional training in how to answer phones. This seems to be endemic in the Hilo area from my experience. Speed talkers. Is it any wonder customers get the wrong informatiion. And the corporate suits are not concerned. My personal experience comes from working in big city enviorments: Boston/Cambridge, San Francisco. Hilo has a small town mentaliy which is why people coming from the mainland return after a few years. Extremely high turnover. So..will my comments make the Testimonial website page? Not a chance!

I had a totally awesome and enjoyable time spent with everyone I encountered there! The staff are very professional and caring,which made the experience there great! I would recommend this place to all my friends and family.
I'm 62 years old , and retired now,and my only support for dental coverage is my medicare insurance. I had to sign on , to an outside source of dental insurance called houala and it cost me $192.00 for only 1 year of coverage! They should put together a special dental insurance for seniors with affordable rates in the near future!

Dr. Lee and his staff are awesome! They do their job right and in a timely manner. They also let you ACCOMPANY your kids if you want to.

I find the care that I receive at HI Family Dental, Hilo, meets or exceeds my expectations for dental each time I visit. They have a very efficient and friendly staff. Pricing seems reasonable. Great care from this business.

I required extensive implant work on one of my front teeth. I panicked -- being new to Hilo side meant I needed a referral for an appointment to see a dentist. Two dentists later I finally found Dr. Meyer, and HFDC could do both surgery (Dr. Gill) and dental. Dr. Meyer even came in to work on a day off so that I would not have to walk around with a missing front tooth. Replicating what used to be there requires an artist’s eye and I was in Dr. Meyer’s good hands. Covid timing meant it took a little longer, but now I look good! Great staff too.

Everyone was professional and courteous. The wait time was very short. The procedure was done with virtually no discomfort at all. I would recommend them for any type of dental services.
