After having a very unpleasant experience trying to unsuccessfully get to the “ root” of my tooth problem it was wonderful to be referred to Dr. Bunnell who diagnosed the problem and had a solution immediately.. to sit in a dentist’s chair for 2 hours and go back to work pain free was short of a miracle compared to past experiences .. Grateful to find such a competent and comfortable environment with all staff being friendly and welcoming.. thank you to all of you🙏🏽

I have been a patient here for many years. Dr Bunnell and all of his warm, courteous , and highly skilled staff have been my Godsend. I had a mouth full of catastrophically re-arranged, missing, and deteriorating teeth. Dr. Bunnell has met the challenges of my many problems with initiative and patience, and compassion Thanks to him, I once again, have a broad, and appreciative smile . He succeeded where others had floundered and it has been like- changing for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bunnell since moving to Hawaii in 2006. What do I love about this dental office? Here’s a few:
1. This office is very punctual. I don’t think I have ever had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room, or in a patient care room.
2. This office is very organized & this makes the patient experience very professional, prompt & makes me feel confident that I am getting the best care possible.
3. Everyone I have ever come into contact with is really great. Very friendly & positive atmosphere. The person who has been doing my teeth cleaning fills me with all kinds if interesting information while she works. I usually cannot comment back because she is cleaning my teeth, but I have learned quite a bit while listening, some information that is quite fascinating about teeth, dental health, how dental health affects other areas of the body, etc.
4. From what I understand, Dr. Bunnell has specialized equipment that other dental offices may not have. I don’t have much recent experience with other dental offices, but here’s one example. I needed a implant done. I had moved to another state briefly & started the process. Part of the process is getting an MRI of the area the implant will be placed. This dental office needed to refer me out to another dentist who had the equipment to do the MRI. It was going to cost over $900. But, I ended up moving back to the Big Island & had the MRI done at Dr. Bunnell’s office. He had the equipment & was significantly cheaper. Also, I’m supposed to get a crown done & everything will be done on the same day. He has the equipment to make the crown. Do other dentists have this capability? I have no idea. But Dr. Bunnell does!
5. I live down south & the location is very convenient. Access from the highway into the parking lot is not the greatest, & this is the harshest criticism I can offer.

My appointment 2 weeks ago, with Dr Bunnell was awesome again. I love that as soon as I feel pain, he takes care of it. Heʻs a pain buster, he gets rid of it. For the first time, I’m committed to investing in my dental care and recently decided on a dental implant and I know that the reason is because I totally trust his expertise and judgement. I have never ever felt this way about a dentist and in fact, my whole dental team in that office. Iʻm not aftaid to ask questions and because of all of these things, when i walk in the door, Iʻm confident that Iʻm in good hands. 😀
Today, 2 weeks later, he checked on how my implant site is healing and discussed the rest of my plan for other work and I’m ready and happy to continue the plan. 😀 That’s a miracle all by itself.

Dr Taylor and dental hygienist matsuyama are awesome! Dr Taylor is thorough and kind while dr matsuyama is knowledgeable and entertaining. I learned so much about the care of my mouth and teeth from these 2! I guess you can teach an old gal new tricks! Thank you! To the team at Dr Bunnells office! (Even the front office staff is so sweet!) it’s just a win win situation!

Required a root canal and was pleased how quickly Dr Taylor and his staff accommodated me. After healing I returned for an annual cleaning with dental hygienist Stacy M. For those who fear the dentist, you will not find a more professional yet fun group of people to help you relax and take care of your precious pearly whites!

Best dentist, hygienist, and staff, EVER! Wouldn’t trust or go to any other. Dr. Bunnell and his team are exceptional! If you loathe the mere thought of going to the dentist and/or the thought of doing so gives you an anxiety attack like it does to me, these professionals will put yours fears and reluctance at ease.

Jack & Chris are so exceptional that it normally defies words. But since I am a "words" person, I'll carry on. In my experience (I'm 79), Jack is the most extraordinarily gifted dental "artist" one could ever hope for. Not only that, he is a highly engaging, fun, humorous, & thoroughly delightful person with whom to spend time. And dental assistant Chris (a mere 32 years of experience) is a true "dear", and I am sure is of immeasurable professionable value to Jack as he navigates his way thru sometimes difficult procedures. I just spent 4 hours with them today (who in their right mind would Ever want to spend 4 hours in a dental dungeon?!), & I can say categorically that it was a Good Experience! For real! Oh...& what he does, is a damn good value...because it's done right! My advice?...don't go anywhere else.
