I’ve had such positive experiences with Dr. McNeil and everyone that works there.

I had a bad experience with another dentist, and Dr. McNeil assured me that he’ll work on my cavity filling in a gentle way. He also made sure to let me know that if I was experiencing any discomfort to let him know.

He did such a wonderful job on my cavity filling. He also fixed my bite after going to multiple dentists before him that didn’t quite get it right.

Excellent service. Staff is meticulous and efficient. My hygienist Kellen is fantastic. Dr McNeil replaced three old fillings of mine and I was in and out within forty-five minutes. Dr McNeil and his assistant worked together like it was an operating room on an episode of ER. They were calm, comforting, efficient, and when he said done- zero adjustments were needed.
The waiting room feels outdated, but the exam rooms have top notch chairs and equipment.
I highly recommend my dentist!

I am a Veteran and having a Dentist Like Dr. McNeil accepting Veterans is a big plus. Very efficient and still personable, his staff are very exceptional, always making you feel welcomed. I personally wish I had found him sooner. If there was a rating above 5 stars, I would relay that to him..

Dr. McNeil has been wonderful! We recently switched to him because we were very disappointed with our previous dentist. Dr. McNeil is extremely time efficient, works with your insurance company to ensure best coverage possible, and has wonderful manners. My husband and I would highly highly recommend him and his wonderful staff to anyone looking for a dentist!!

The dentist told my husband that he had a new cavity each year. He got them filled. The last visit the dentist again said he had a new cavity, my husband got a second opinion and he did not have any cavity at all. We feel that the dentist has lied about needing work done and he will not be going back.

I have been Dr. McNeil's patient for more years than I can count. From the first day I met him and received treatment, I knew I did not need to look any further for a friendly, professional, and competent dentist. He has a unique office manner that makes you feel comfortable throughout any procedure (and I have experienced most). He is a man of integrity, making sure to only treat what is needed and to advise you what will be needed over time. His comparable office staff and hygienists are second to none. They all make me smile - literally!

I am a Dental Hygienist on Maui and trust and respect Dr. McNeil tremendously. That is why I chose him to be my dentist. His work is thorough and of the highest caliber. I also respect that he does not push unnecessary treatment. The hygienist Kellyn that works there has cleaned by teeth twice and as someone that knows a thing or two about hygiene, I am can confidently to say she is hard to beat and will be cleaning my teeth forever! All around a great, reliable and exemplary office.

Chris is very careful with every thing he does. He has done several crowns for me and we even went through a root canal together with his oral surgeon. His hygienists are the best and help instruct me on better tooth care, such as place I am missing and better brushing technique. It is even fun to be in the office which sounds crazy for a dentist's office, but he goes out of his way to be on time, provide the latest in surf magazines and books, and remind you of upcoming appointments . I highly recommend Chris and all of his staff.

I do not recommend Chris McNeil for several reasons.

The font office is extremely rude. Colleen seems to have made it her personal mission to bully the office clientele. After surveying other patients, several of us have experienced her rudeness and lack of professionalism.

Dr McNeil’s has made me personally uncomfortable in the chair. While undergoing treatment I have been asked private questions totally unrelated to dental work because of his curiosity about my personal life and my husband.

I do not trust his technique. While trying to remove and replace a difficult crown (one where I had no previous problems but Dr McNeil insisted I needed to replace), there was terrible crunch. Within a two days of this appointment my gum began to swell and ooze and eventually severe pain and an abscess began. After consulting with another dentist, it was found that the tooth had been broken in a way that was not consistent with a bite, but rather a lateral or twisting force (like the crown removal) and I would have to have the tooth removed.

I find his professionalism and empathy lacking. Dr Mc Neil’s response when I told him about my broken tooth was to immediately become defensive and belligerent even though I was calm and not accusatory. He raised his voice and became nasty saying that I was ruining his weekend. Later when I went to the office to collect my records and x-rays he pulled me into the back room to berate me. He asked me what I wanted. I said that I did not want anything, but that I wished that I had my teeth. His response was to say that it would be nice if he could turn back time so that I could take better care of myself.

5. I believe that he is in business to make as much money as possible. After telling my story to other islanders, several have come forward with their experiences of feeling pushed to have more work done than they wanted or needed as well as finding their dental work to be sub-par.

I would first like to say that Dr. McNeil and his staff are very friendly and professional. I am a new patient there so this was my first time meeting everyone. I'm pretty picky with who I get my teeth cleaned with, but Kellyn who is the hygienist there was very nice and I would recommend her to any of my family and friends. If you are looking for a dentist on Maui Dr. McNeil is your man!!
