Underwhelming customer service. Incompetent staff.

1. Went in for emergency walk-in visit and was told by the receptionist they'd already had an emergency visit that day. (Um, sure, next time we'll schedule our emergency in advance with your office??) If you can't handle dental emergencies, please don't advertise that you can.

2. We were told we'd have to wait at least an hour. Understandable, we didn't have an appointment. However, during our wait no one made an attempt to update us. No "we're going to get you in just as soon as we can" or "hang in there, the dentist will see you right after this cleaning." Instead everyone behind the desk did all they could to avoid making eye contact with us while we waited.

3. Husband was finally seen by dentist and told he needed to go to ER. We went to ER. Because of husband's high-risk status, ER did what they could for the infection and warned us a tooth extraction was needed ASAP. Discharge paperwork said to schedule with a dentist within two days. Called Aspen to make the appointment, explained who I was and why I was calling and was put on hold. After a lengthy hold time, someone picked up the phone and put me back on hold without talking to me. I continued to wait. Eventually, I got an automated disconnect message and the call was terminated.

4. I called back, explaining who I was and that my previous call was disconnected. Different girl answered and said, oh yes, I remember you from yesterday. She did my husband's x-rays. No apology for being ignored on hold, but she explained that they couldn't do the procedure today or tomorrow despite the discharge orders from the ER. In frustration, I said "I'm just trying to make an appointment for as early as possible." She finally gave me a date 8 days out.

At almost every point I felt like the staff thought we'd go away if they just avoided dealing with us long enough. Wish granted, but it'd would've been nice if they'd just said they couldn't (or wouldn't) help us from the beginning.

To be fair, I had a WONDERFUL experience at the Aspen Dental location in Avon, IN before I moved to IL. They're the whole reason I decided to give this location a try. Never going back there again.

I love this place! Everyone is so friendly and goes out of their way to try to help you out. I had basically no wait time. The dentist took a lot of time to answer all of my questions and make me feel comfortable. Highly recommend Aspen Dental!!

The staff is warm and welcoming. I was uncomfortable with the condition my teeth had gotten. They had no judgement and were very caring. The procedure for my dentures was started the day of my assessment and I had my temporary dentures the same day as my extractions. I am amazed and would like to thank Karneisha , Marky , and Dr Thompson for how kind they have been !

This place is the WORST in scheduling. I went in once to get my x-ray done. Payed the deposit and scheduled for like 2 weeks later to get my root canal. Showed up on the day that the receptionist had wrote down on my appointment card. Waited for 30 minutes and they tell me there was a mis-scheduling so I signed up for another appointment, another 2 weeks later. This time, I called the day before my appointment and they tell me again I didn't have an appointment. The two times I called, the male receptionist was so rude. They never apologized. I don't know how good they are, but I'm never saying good things about here for sure.

Had an appointment today, the prices were good and service was even better. The staff was/ is respectful and courteous.

They really take care of your teeth here and they have a wonderful staff keep up the good work Aspen best dentist office I've ever been to here in Champaign

So, I return to see them after being seen by a pvt practice dentist for another opinion and although the 2nd dentist does not work on the problem at all since it would then make him a part of the issue as well as it would break the guarantee for the service that is provided by Aspen Dental, but he did an exam and gave an opinion on the poorly fitting of the plate and lower partial and the coating on the top being a added thing to help for stains and it can be removed possibly from Aspen but it may be a costly thing to have done..
I asked Aspen about just having my money back, but I’m asked if I would let him remake the denture for me at no cost. I agree and had the 1st impression done that visit. This last visit on Fri the 6th was for the wax try in and as it was not correct, another bite sample was taken and the dentist said for me to return Monday the 9th to do a try in. I said I had another appt and I was avail on Tuesday the following day and he said that he would have me return then. I now am seeing that the appt is not for the 10th, but it is scheduled on the 17th, but I’m told by the staff that they will see me on Tues next week and so here we go with the poor service again.
Please don’t reply back to me with your standard apology and statement about calling and following up with the customer care team as had I of just not done this the 1st time and stayed with the request for my money back, I would not be writing this review as I am.

This place is a racket! I went in for a routine check up with no pain in my mouth. They told me I need four crowns and three fillings. They presented me with a bill for treatment for over $7000! Save yourself the headache and cash and find a different dentist.

The staff are very friendly and upbeat, and they are accommodating with scheduling. I went in as a first time patient, and they were able to get my x-rays, survey work and then two treatment procedures all before lunch time. Would recommend to anyone.

I do not recommend this office! I have had good teeth my whole life and was told I had a serious case of gingivitis and a cavity. They claimed I needed special cleanings, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. The bill for their treatment plan was over $700. I just went and got a second opinion from my old dentist. Turns out I have no cavities and the average amount of gingivitis which does not require any special treatment. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.
