I don’t usually post reviews, but this post is way long overdue. When looking for any doctor’s office, I make sure to not only look for a knowledgeable and caring one, but also for a place that has wonderful staff. My family and I have visited Dr. Ballesteros’ office for about 8 years now, and have always experienced the best service. They really do treat you like family. They are always very welcoming and willing to help you with any questions or concerns regarding your visit. Their office always looks and smells clean, and they always have the latest technology. If you need any dental work done, you don’t have to worry about a thing because Dr. Ballesteros and his staff are the best!! Giselle is an expert on insurance and will genuinely help you with any issues you have regarding coverage. She helped my mom and I a lot when it came time for me to remove my
wisdom teeth and there was issues that came up regarding our insurance covering the cost of the procedure. To sum up my review, Dr. Ballesteros and his wife Giselle are absolutely amazing and are always so kind; look no further if you’re looking for a new dentist’s office!!

I was recently looking for a dentist and I ran across Mr. Ballesteros' name and I remembered reporting him to the state board and felt I should publicize that event. This was a number of years ago, in fact. I was a poor graduate student (I'm now a Professor) and we were on state insurance. I took my little girl there to get a check up as he accepted Illinois Medicaid. To date, it remains the worst experience I've had, medically; frankly, I think that says a lot.
It was clear, after the debacle, that Mr. Ballesteros chose to be on the state dole (like I was, ironically--but at different ends), for, well, the money. I don't expect that people comport themselves in a way that only takes account of charity, but, seriously, dude, you don't know who is in your chair and how long they remember things, and how public our society and social media have become. Don't take the state's money to beef up your service and treat them like chattel.
Anyway--to say he had a rough, inexperienced bedside manner would be an understatement. He made my daughter, who was all of five-years old, cry. She has disliked going to the dentist since this time. He scolded her for turning away and then proceeded to scold me; he was quite condescending and I'm quite sure he looked askance on us as poor people on the public dole. I was humiliated, and what's more, I felt inadequate as a parent.
He also chides her for irregular dental care which is quite odd, seeing as how she was not remiss in this respect and only five years old. I will be reviewing him elsewhere, now that I've remembered this horrible experience. Stay away!!!

This dentist operates with out a hygienist, without a administrator. He does work he shouldn't be doing. I wouldn't even give this dentist a star. Find another dentist.

I’ve been a patient of this establishment since the beginning. Dr. Ascona was my first dentist and Dr. Ballesteros is my second dentist. He does excellent work and would recommend anyone who needs a dentist to go visit him.
