I had an appointment at Scottsburg Family Dentistry on 01/13/2021 and let me tell you how friendly, down-to-earth, and professional the staff is here:
Perfect. They clearly explained everything to me and I was asking questions about what this means on this procedure, what are my options concerning my dental health, and even about splitting the cost between cash & using my card (wasn't sure if I would have enough in cash on me). The staff took the time to answer all of my questions and clearly explained everything to me.
I had this numbing agent put on my gums since Dr. Ayers advised that it would be best to remove teeth #17, #18, and #19 since I had a recent abscess in that area that was really bad. Well, the next thing I know Dr. Ayers had extracted all 3 of those teeth. I thought he was still on the first tooth when he said that he was done. He also ordered me a prescription of antibiotics to help me recover.
I have been recommending Scottsburg Family Dentistry to my coworkers today while I was working (several of them have been looking for a dentist). I haven't had any problems and my gums are doing great since I have been following the instructions that Dr. Ayers and his staff gave me to take care of them. Still trying to get used to the huge gap from having 3 teeth gone though lol. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Dr Ayers and all the Staff are always very professional and courteous.
He, as well as the Hygentist, take time to address concerns and explain in laymans terms what is going on.
They'll guide you through changes you can make in your daily dental hygiene to avoid possible problems.
For instance I never realized the advantages of an electric toothbrush especially for my Gums. Changing to an Oral-B from my manual brushing techniques has really helped my Gum health and sensitivity.
They DON'T try to push products or services you haven't asked for.

I had my teeth cleaned today , I had a great experience the staff is very professional, I was in for my appointment out in just a little over 35 minutes , that was exrays. Cleaning and examination , if you need dental work done call make an appointment !

Dr Ayer's is very thorough and will explain what you don't understand. He will definitely be honest and tell you what you should do. If he can't help you he will send you to a Doctor that can help you. I highly recommend him.

MUST READ BEFORE CHOOSING A DENTIST....
I JUST MOVED HERE FROM TEXAS AND BELIEVE ME- I HAVE BEEN TO MANY DIFFERENT DENTIST OFFICES, AND I WAS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BY THIS ONE! THE RECEPTIONIST WAS LOVELY AND QUICK, THE DENTIST (WHO LOOKS LIKE HAWK-EYE BY THE WAY) HANDLED EVERYTHING WITH GENTLE CARE. I KNOW THAT I AM NOT ALONE WHEN I SAY THAT THE INITAL X-RAYS WITH THE UNCOMFORTABLE METAL THING IS USUALLY PAINFUL, WITH NO EMPATHY FROM THE PERSON RAMMING IT INTO YOUR MOUTH, BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE THIS TIME. THE DENTAL HYGIENIST WAS CAREFUL AND EVEN ENLIGHTENED ME TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE TORI ( A BONE ON MY LOWER JAW) THAT MAKES THAT PROCESS EVEN MORE PAINFUL. NO ONE HAD EVER MENTIONED THAT BEFORE. FINALLY, THE REGULAR OLD CLEANING THAT ANY DENTIST OFFERS DURING A CHECK UP- HAD THE QUALITY OF A DEEP CLEANING THAT COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE HAD TO DO JUST THAT MORE THAN ONCE. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. AND THE BEST PART OF ALL... THERE WAS NO SHAMING ME ABOUT THE CARE OF MY TEETH. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I DON'T HAVE SOME HORRIFIC DENTAL ISSUES; JUST A SINGLE CAVITY, BUT EVERY OTHER DENTIST I HAVE EVER SEEN ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL BAD ABOUT SOMETHING. I DON'T FLOSS ENOUGH. I DON'T USE ENOUGH MOUTHWASH. I SHOULDN'T DRINK AS MUCH COFFEE, BLAH BLAH BLAH. THERE WAS NONE OF THAT. THEY WERE ALL SO NICE AND COMFORTING. THE USUAL UNPLEASENTNESS OF GOING TO THE DENTIST EVAPORATED. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE ENOUGH! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
