Louisiana Dental Center - Gonzales

I cannot tell you how much pain I was in or how anxious I was about losing my teeth. The care, attention and expertise with which I was treated surpassed any facility I have ever experienced. Everyone took their time, informed me of every step and even held my hand when I needed it. Dr. Abide was so gentle and Lauren created beauty out of thin air. Thank you all very much for making my pain go away and my smile beautiful again.

The billing department kept changing the amount I owed. Everytime I would pay they would call back saying they miscalculated again. They seemed to do a great job at first, but they kept having to readjust my filling. They told me I had cavities on both sides of my mouth. They did one side and after all the issues I consulted another dentist to do the other side. It turns out I didn't have any cavities on the second side they said I needed fillings on. It's been several years and still no cavities on the side they swore I needed work on. Also, they offer new patients a discount if you leave them a positive review on Google so that helps their score.

My son came to Louisiana Dental Center for orthodontic care in mid 2017. In November 2018, during a routine check up, the orthodontist, Dr. Merrell Irby, discovered cavities and suggested for the braces to be removed and end the treatment. Without agreeing to remove the braces and end the treatments, my son left.

On April 11, 2019, my son went back for routine cleaning. The general dentist was seemingly instructed to make a recommendation to have my son’s braces remove and end the dental correction. At that juncture, I was not comfortable with an in-house dentist making the recommendation. I asked for and opportunity to seek a third opinion from an outside dentist. Dr. Irby agreed to my request.

On April 16, 2019, my son was examined by a dentist at W Dentist on Jefferson Hwy and determined that it’s not necessary to completely remove the braces to fix the cavities. He suggested to finish the few remaining months of dental correction and then fix the cavities after, since there is no sign of advanced decay of the teeth.

On April 24, 2019, we went back to Louisiana Dental Center as scheduled. Dr. Irby was not very fond of the suggestions from the third opinion and chose to completely dismiss it. She came to the dental chair and dogmatically told me that “the braces are coming off today”. I told her not until she fully discussed the matter with the third dentist. I agreed to the removal only if they all come to a final conclusion to do so. She then threw a hand-wash gesture that she is finished and I must seek another orthodontist to finish the orthodontic work.

Louisiana Dental Center has received payment for the braces in full. My son still has braces in his mouth. Louisiana Dental Center still owes us the remaining orthodontic care. I just hope there is no long term negative affect on my son’s teeth for having the braces unnecessarily remaining on his teeth. We are currently seeking available recourses to complete the unfinished orthodontic work left by Dr. Merrell Irby.

I have hear nothing but great things about Louisiana Dental Center in Gonzales. I have called each person I have spoke with have been extremely professional and will go out of their way to help you and get the answer that you need. I look forward to my up coming appt and cant wait to put names with the smiling faces there . I've never been excited to go to a dentist but I truly am. Dr Trauth and his staff are amazing! Incredibly nice and does everything to make you feel welcome! I would recommend him to anyone truely the best dentist and experience I have ever had!

Awesome experience. I needed a specialized denture made for my down syndrome brother and Dr. Owens and his assistant, Jenny, were very helpful. They treated my brother with exceptional care.

This is always the worst dentist office I ever go to. If you have any dental anxieties do NOT come here, they are rude and impatient. If you are in pain and cry when they touch the INCREDIBLY pained tooth they will ask you what your problem is. I have never dealt with a ruder staff and frankly I hope one doesn’t exist.

I recently visited LDC in GONZALES for a cleaning. I’m very pleased with this office. The staff members are always professional and courteous. Visits to the dentist have never been so pleasant!
