After they rescheduled at least 2 or 3 of my appointments at the last minute due to staffing issues, I found another dentist. Then they charged me $100 for a missed appointment when i hadn't seen them as a patient for over 8 months. Don't come here

Terrible place won't go back ever again. They said they would not take care of me if I had a emergency. Thank God I found a place that treats you with compassion.

I went to Patriot Dental in Gray Me today for the 1st time. I highly recommend them. I had Dr. Jason and Lianne as my dental assistant. Both were amazing, friendly and very professional. I felt totally at ease. I loved how Dr. Jason explained in detail what is going on in my mouth - Lianne also explained a lot I am for sure staying with Patriot Dental!!!

I have gone to Patroit Dental for roughly the last 5+ years. While I was there when the service was good it was exceptional, but when it wasn’t it was the worst. I have extreme dental anxiety and Dr Boynton has always been very patient and excellent when it came to explaining procedures to be done. Where I have an issue is most recently in my care with the office. I have to have an extensive amount of work done and was advised by Dr Boyton of a treatment plan that was very different from our prior discussions. This threw me off and caused a lot of undo anxious feelings. I was asking a significant amount of questions because the amount of work is astronomical and will be in the tens of thousands of dollars range. He then left the office room and told me he was referring me off to another provider for, what he explained at the time, was a second opinion. At that point I became frustrated and stated that if I was being referred off to other parties to have my work done then I was having a hard time understanding why this required a subsequent appointment with him as it seemed like this would be a waste of time and money. Both of which are slim when you look at the amount of work to be done. He referred me to another provider. I left my appointment with the alternate provider and called to explain that I’ll be bringing the specialty images to his office to discuss my treatment plan. That call and voice mail was 3 weeks ago. He’s yet to return my call. I then spoke with the office manager over a week ago who explained that Dr Boynton was discharging me from his practice because I simply stated that if I’m being referred off to other parties wouldn’t that be a waste of time and money to attend unnecessary appointments with a dentist (him) that is not treatment me anyway. I was told that by me saying this that it is questioning his ability as a dentist and questioning his “extensive knowledge base”. Since this telephone call with the office I have emailed him to see about this misunderstanding because I can’t fathom being discharged from a practice simply for asking questions. Making a statement that I didn’t want to waste my or his time and money isn’t being disrespectful, it’s simply being cognizant of a situation that is going to take a lot of time and a significant amount of money upwards of $40,000 or more and every penny counts at that point. Again, I called yesterday and didn’t get a call back after leaving a voicemail asking to speak with someone about work that Dr Boynton performed that needs to be repaired. All of which he was fully aware of prior to discharging me from the practice. His letter to advise me he was discharging me stated that he will remain my dentist while I seek new care with another provider at least until 5/12/21. I again called today asking for a call back to see if I can have the work that he performed less than 2 years ago repaired and again haven’t received a call back. I was told I would get a call within the hour. I have now called again and left another voicemail and I’m doubting that I’ll get a call back.

I would have a VERY different opinion of the office if this was handled differently.

This isn’t our first poor experience with them as well. Years ago our at the time 10 year old (now 13) had a panic attack in the office because he too has horrible dental anxiety due to dental trauma from when he was very young. He was crying in the dental chair and I was told then that they would not finish his cleaning and that he was not to come back to the practice because he was “upsetting other patients by crying”. A CHILD! We found a new provider for my child and that was a blessing in disguise because his new provider has been nothing but wonderful and has completely changed my child’s opinion of the dentist and dental work. We drive over an hour to see this new dentist for my son and after how we’ve been treated with Dr Boynton and his staff I wouldn’t drive 2 minutes to see him.

Went in for regular cleaning. Met Kim a new hygienist. I've been going here for over 20 years and witnessed lots of turnover. Kim was very caring, thorough, and a pleasure!! Will have to be going back for fillings. Met the new dentist and he seemed very nice. I will update my review after my experience with the cavity .. ugh..

Told at my cleaning I had two cavities . This was on Oct 12. Scheduled to get them filled Nov 14. Oct 12 visit I was told office was submitting a predetermination of benefits to Northeast Delta Dental to determine my cost for the cavities, as well as a claim for my cleaning that day. I was also told it would be around $100 for my cavities. As of my Nov 14 visit, I had not received my predetermination of benefits. The cavities were filled, and upon leaving was asked for the $100, the estimated 20% of the $500 total cost. New dentist was wonderful as well as Maureen hygienist. Fast forward to Nov 24, and I received a predetermination of benefits from NE Delta. They did not cover the fillings used ( the white ones) and showed benefits for a similar procedure. These were back teeth. If i had known, I would have been fine with the old silver fillings!! Amount submitted by Patriot was over $700 for the 2 cavities! Amount approved by Patriot Dental less, and amount allowed by Patriot even more less. Bottom line was amount I owed was $246! Fast forward to Jan3, 2023 and I got an email prompting me to pay bill $500 with estimated insurance in there. Still no claim on NE Delta site for the cavities. Gotta love dental insurance :((... Not sure where this is all going to go, but the costs are ridiculous and it's a faulty system for sure!!
March 2023 update. Cost to me of two cavities-$242..due to insurance not covering resin filling to back teeth..only cover amalgam. I was given no option at dentist, not sure there was one. Cost of previous cleaning and exam to me was $24. Hope this lengthy review h elps others in the same situation
