In addition to being very professional, the staff here are very friendly and welcoming as well. Upon being seen after a wait time of less than 2 min., I was immediately put at ease… and I haven't been to a dentist in 20 years. Dr. George was very accommodating and worked quickly. I am physically disabled and was not required to transfer out of my wheelchair. This made things so much easier for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Dentistry of Bethesda! I was very pleased with my 1st experience there and I plan on going back.

We are new to the area and found this place through our insurance. The front desk staff is friendly and the hygienist are highly trained. They have lots of fancy equipment and are very thorough. The reason for one star is the complete failure to deliver scheduled services and inability to understand patient needs.
I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning and exam. Scheduling was easy, staff was friendly and helpful on the phone. Once I got to the office though, I discovered that they are incapable of doing anything simple or quick. I was "up-sold" from a traditional cleaning to some full mouth-debridement with a fancy high pressure water sprayer, periodontal screening, a gazillion x-rays and photos, cancer screenings with some special light and palpitations. I am a healthy 31 year old female by the way with no tooth pain or problems- I just wanted a cleaning! And then because all that took so long (literally hours) I had to schedule a second appointment for the actual exam. When I came back for the exam, it happened again- I was told I needed another periodontal check and a cleaning in additional to exam! I told them I had already been in for the cleaning at my last appointment so they pulled out my chart and told me that the "full mouth debridement" (where they blast everything off your teeth with high pressure water) isn't actually a "cleaning". So apparently at my first appointment which was scheduled for cleaning and exam, I had neither! In my whole life of going to the dentist regularly, it's always been simple and straight-forward: cleaning (perhaps proceeded by a few x-rays) exam, done! I can't understand why this office over-complicates things and doesn't care when patients are in a hurry. I was so angry with them that I just walked out of my second appointment. What an expensive waste of time. And let me tell you, when you are primary care-giver for an infant, arranging childcare and getting away is difficult enough without people wasting your time and money. I can't comment on the dentist himself as I never got the exam. And I won't go into details on cost except to say it is expensive!
Oh and they all went into a staff meeting while patients sat in the waiting room. Another gentleman/patient came in and no one was at the desk! The other patients in the waiting room had to explain that staff was in a meeting and would be back soon. How unprofessional!
In short, i had a bad experience here. If you are a busy person and just want a normal cleaning and exam, this is NOT the place to go. Stay far far away!

Excellent dentist and friendly, accommodating staff. Dr. Hornstein is always pursuing the latest and best technology and tools in the trade, and manages to make even the most dreaded procedure pass without much fuss.
Bonus items: mounted TVs and headphones available in every operating room!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hornsteins for at least 10 years. My children have also been patients since they were toddlers. Going to the office is like seeing old friends. The staff is terrific, never a wait time, and Dr. Hornstein has done wonders with my teeth! The office is not exactly around the corner, since I live in Darnestown, but I keep on making the trip because it is worth it!

All in all - a great practice! Dr. Hornstein has built a great Dentistry office - great staff - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful! The tools they use to support US the PATIENTS are fantastic and up-to-date technologically speaking! It's never easy to enjoy going to the Dentist but they make a difference and it's an easier experience than one would think. Highly recommended!
