Gentle Dental Somerville

This dental office is by far the best one I've ever been to. I was seen quickly and with a smile after I called crying regarding wisdom tooth pain. I typically go to the Attleboro location, but after a visit to them first thing on a Saturday morning for an emergency, i was turned away without even being asked my name. I scrambled to find an office who could help me when I noticed Somerville was open Sundays. When i called, Claribel, the office manager was very empathetic and booked me an appointment for today! I met with Dr. Daniel who was extremely nice and we pulled the wisdom tooth. Something Attleboro told me would take over a month to do with an oral surgeon, was done within a day of booking my appointment. I highly suggest this office for it's professionalism and caring demeanor towards their patients!!

Everyone at the office was very nice. My services were about as pleasant as could possibly be for a dental office. I really hate getting the cleaning, but my hygienist was great. Then I had fillings replaced by Dr Fessler and he was super gentle and it was quick and painless.

So many things to say about this place, first they told me I was pre authorized by my insurance company to do procedure. I pay half the first day and the 2nd part was in 3 weeks. I get there and go in for procedure... when I come out to pay the 2nd half of bill the craziness begins. They hand me a paper saying my insurance company won’t cover it because I was 3 days out of waiting period. Lie #1 come to find out I was about 6 months away from waiting period which is fine but why did gentle lie to me. They sent me a bill saying I owed 1000... at the location the charged 100 extra. My insurance company said they never gave gentle a pre auth for me. Lie #2 from gentle. I pay what I initially owed and left. There was about 900 still owed ... that they wanted me to pay without telling me my insurance was going to cover it AFTER I did the procedure ... crazy !!! The manager told me after everything that they are waiving what the insurance co wasn’t going to pay. Ok well that’s not a favor for me because I was never going to pay it. So many lies from this place. I was highly disappointed and called my insurance company (Cigna) who told me they will be suspending and or canceling gentle dental from they network. People beware ... !!!

Dr Ian Fessler and his team are the best of the best. I had a legit fear of seeing the dentist. He made everything seem like a walk in the park. I hadn't smiled in over 10 years and thanks to him I love my new smile!

One of the best Dental practices in town! Excellent, friendly staff and service. Juli is a fantastic Dental Hygienist who cares for her clients oral hygiene and educates you on your oral health like no else. Always look forward to going to Gentle Dental! My teeth thank you ;)

Dr. Fessler was great. Had a root canal and a crown put in and it was pain free. They were super easy to work with and eased any fears I had of getting the service done (I don't handle pain well). Dr. Fessler was very knowledgeable and gentle in doing all my dental work. I'd recommend anyone who is looking for a new dentist to come here.

Dr Fessler and staff ( hygienist, assistant and front desk) are GREAT !!....Excellent service and finally my problem was fixed and fixed correctly. I had a bad crown placement in November and the dentist that did it refused to admit fault only kept insisting that he would be the one to fix it, are you crazy...no wait I would be if I went back to him. The crown was so flat there was tooth exposure. Dr Fessler made what I thought would be a difficult process very easy and pain free and I am extremely pleased with the work done.
My boyfriend will soon be joining me as a patient of Dr Fessler and Gentle Dental !!!!

This was one of the worse experiences at the dentist office I've ever had before. First, off let me say the dentist himself is a great at what he does. He is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable, but I can't say the same for the receptionist. They do not care about their patients just the money. I was going in for yearly cleaning yesterday, and was advised I needed three fillings. They gave me what the bill would be based off my insurance. I literally left the chair because I couldn't afford the procedures on the spot. When I informed them I couldn't afford it they told me don't worry about it we will bill you. I came in today prepared to pay they told me a completely different price with a huge different, and said since I got the "cosmetic filling" my insurance wouldn't cover as much. They never informed me there was two versions of fillings, and my insurance didn't cover both. If I couldn't afford it why would I want the expensive filling or why wouldn't you mention the cheaper one. When I asked today why didn't you say anything about this yesterday she replied rudely you should know your insurance. Clearly uncaring of how this money would affect me as individual who is already struggling to get by day to day. Left me in tear on my way to class to know I won't be able to afford tuition next semester for a filling. She ruined my experience their.

My visit was for a routine exam and cleaning. I was fortunate to be seen by Dental Hygienist Ana Gerhske. Ana is kind, thorough, and gentle. She explains what she’s doing in the process. I was extremely impressed by Ana’s technique. Her movements are precise and smooth. She moved through all of the areas, including the gumline, with the deftness of an expert.

My only complaint is the background music throughout the office. It is loud and sounded like music for tweens.
