Dr. Carlstrom has been my dentist for about 5 years now! Always a good experience and a great atmosphere. It's always a " filling " day when I visit. Thank you!

My first visit was great. The dentists and hygienists were very professional and welcoming. However, when I went to email them to schedule my next appointment a few months later, they did not respond for over a month. When I was finally scheduled for this appointment, the time and day did not work for me. I replied immediately asking to reschedule for a different day/time, but never got a response. On the day of that appointment, the receptionist called me asking where I was... I even recommended a family member to this dentist, but her appointment request was never acknowledged either.
Anyway, I had a great experience with the dentists, it’s just the lack of communication that puts me off. For someone who already has anxiety when it comes to the dentist, scheduling an appointment should not be so difficult.

Staff is very nice! I had a filling that was bothering me so they went in and they thought it needed to be evened out. Then, told me to take ibprofen and Advil on a scheduled to get rid of the pain. I went to another dentist and I was told the filling had bacteria in it and I had to get a crown. I think they should just listen to their patients more when they’re in pain instead of putting them on meds and blaming it on sensitivity.I am sure a case like mine is rare, but remember to advocate for yourself.

I was very impressed with their care. They go above and beyond, and this spirit is not restricted to one or just a couple levels of the care team. Every person, from the desk staff to the dentist (I see Dr. Carlstrom), and everyone in between does a truly excellent job. Every person involved in my care was extremely kind, personable, interested, and listened.
Dr. Carlstrom is superb. She is honest and direct, knowledgable, and she even stays up to date with the current dental literature and guidelines. She is also patient, perceptive, and you can tell that she loves what she does and makes decisions based on what’s best for you and your health. She is not going to push a treatment on you that you don’t need.
Furthermore, their office is clean, efficient, runs smoothly, and has adapted seamlessly to the necessary adjustments brought on by COVID to keep you safe. I was very satisfied with my experience. I just wish I could take them with me when I move!

No one really likes going to the dentist, but it is a lot more enjoyable at Lakewood Dental. I came to Lakewood four years ago for a second opinion, when another denist wanted to fill 14 cavities. I had never had a cavity before in my life. How could I need 14 fillings? In the last four years, I have had 4 fillings. Dr. Yoder is amazing!
