Dr. Kaelin and staff are very nice, courtesy and professional. This office has had all my dental work for years. Charlie does a excellent job and she is a veteran, the ladies who manage the office part are knowledgeable about their work. Never a problem with billing. If you are looking for a new Dentist, I would highly recommend this office.

Great experience! Dr Kaelin and Shana are the bomb! Had a replacement crown put in and Dr. Kaelin took the time to explain exactly what he was doing. I would highly recommend their office for your dental needs. Very professional and friendly. Also, if you want an excellent teeth cleaning you won’t find a better Dental Hygienist than Johnene.

We absolutely love James River Dental! Shawna and Johnene are so amazing with my children and myself too! Our entire family from ages 5 to 92 visit this clinic and we all adore them! Sometimes visiting the dentist can be a scary thing but not here- They really take care of you! So happy we have Dr. Kaelin and his staff as our Dentist! I always enjoy my visits to JRD. Shana is always pleasant and remembers me. The whole staff is nice and always make me feel welcome. Dr. Kaelin won me over from day one because he gives it to you straight tells you what needs to be done and will crack a joke or two. Great place to have your dental work done !! I have always been afraid of the dentist, but that all changed once I meet Shana and Dr. Kaelin. These two are wonderful people who invite you in like you are part of the family. I have never had such a good experience with a dentist office like these two. I had my first appointment this week at the James River Dental office. I was very impressed with everyone - their friendliness, professionalism, and competence.
I was particularly impressed with Johnene Amberg, the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth and took the necessary x-rays. It was probably one of the best and most thorough cleanings I have had anywhere. Johnene has the most gentle touch, so I never felt uncomfortable. She explained everything she did so there were no surprises or anxiety. In addition, Johnene showed me my x-rays and explained which teeth needed possible attention. And at the end of the cleaning, she showed me the best way to floss. She took extra time for all of this which I greatly appreciated.
Another staff member, Nicole, took pictures of my teeth (which no one had ever done before.) She was very efficient and friendly.
At the end of my appointment, Dr. Kaelin checked my teeth and made recommendations about what should be done. He combined professionalism with a great sense of humor.
This office and its staff are first rate. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a superior dental experience.
