Dr. Mortenson has been my dentist for half of my life; 17 years. Bad teeth run in my family. My brother, sister and I all have terrible teeth despite Sonicare toothbrushes and obsessive flossing. Dr. Mortenson has done a ton of work on me, including: SEVEN root canals, two bridges, two crowns, filling countless cavities and extracting three of my wisdom teeth.
Dr. Mortenson always been wonderful, generous, and very gentle. What sticks out in my mind the most is the time he drove into town on a Saturday, in the middle of a mega-blizzard, to treat an abscessed tooth. He didn't call someone else or tell me to go to the ER, he came in to take care of it himself. He genuinely cares about his patients and I will never forget how kind he was that day.
Late on a Friday last year, my brother was visiting Bozeman and had a tooth go nuclear on him. I told him to call Bozeman Dental but everyone had left for the day, so he left a message. Dr. Lyons called my brother within a few minutes, and even though he was on his way out of town for the weekend, he turned around and came back to town to treat my brother. Got him on antibiotics right away and my brother got to enjoy the rest of his trip. This is especially awesome because my brother is not a regular patient at Bozeman Dental. They are just that kind!
There are plenty of dentists who are good, gentle and priced well...but not all of them care about patients as much the doctors do at Bozeman Dental.
I am more than happy to recommend Bozeman Dental!

I would not recommend Dr. Mortenson's practice. I received treatment for a cavity about a year ago and went back to him a few months later because of continued discomfort on that side of the mouth. Dr. Mortenson advised me that no treatment should be pursued and that simply, "I may have to live without eating popcorn." A few months later I sought treatment at a different practice because the pain persisted. Upon exam, it was discovered that that same tooth had not been sealed and was indeed continuing to decay. After treatment at this clinic, all discomfort has ceased.
When I contacted Dr. Mortenson about this issue and asked for assistance in paying for the 2nd filling of this same tooth, he refused to help in any way.
Needless to say, I do not recommend Dr. Mortenson and encourage people to seek oral care elsewhere in Bozeman.

The staff is excellent and highly knowledgeable. The work on my root canal was quick and thurough with very little pain. On top of all of that they took me on with very short notice. While the office was busy, I still felt like I was the only one there when they were seeing me.

These folks were really helpful and very accommodating. I called when my permanent retainer fell out and they got me in the next day. They even charged way less than the other dentists in town. I am really grateful and would definitely suggest Bozeman Dental.
