As Gabriel & April Diaz explained, I too have had a very similar experience. I hadn't been to the dentist in years, but I decided to go after having my baby. I went to this dentist by reference. The first couple of visits there were fine. I was told I had a few cavities, which I found normal, and got them filled. It was a very long and painful visit. Fast-forward sometime later, getting a cleaning done, I was told that I had a couple more cavities; one in which the insurance would cover, and the other it wouldn't because they had already been filled within a 3 year period, so I went ahead and paid around $108 out-of-pocket. Every single time they got filled I would feel sensitivity afterwards and couldn't drink anything cold for months!! I was told it would go away after a few months. Anyways, after that last visit, the dental assistant gave me a quote of nearly $800 and told me I had another 5-6 cavities that needed to get filled ASAP or that would mean that I would need to get some root canals done, and that would get even more expensive. Insurance wouldn't cover those either. I decided to switch over to a new dentist, didn't feel comfortable in her office either. So, I decided to go back to my childhood dentist, and after the cleaning I asked how many cavities had been found. The dentist told me that only one was barely forming, and that the other teeth were in nearly perfect condition. Please stay away from this office. Do not let them SCAM you!

Southwest Family Dental has always taken really good care of my family. We already know and love Jessica our hygienist. She always treats my kids as if they were her own. Dr.Liao is amazing! We were a little nervous to meet the new dentist, but with her knowledge, I know I made the right choice to continue our dental needs here. Whenever I need to get in on an emergency or have a question I can count on Belen or Adriana to help me. I highly recommend everyone to take a second look at Southwest Family Dental. I've personally witnessed so many improvements since Dr. Liao took over!

I thought I would ignore the reviews that i'd seen about this dentist and give it a try because they accept medicaid and scheduled me very fast. I went for the first visit and was surprised because the reviews had said that the staff were rude. They were not rude. But they were highly unprofessional. No one seemed to know what was going on and I had two different dental assistants come in and ask me what i was waiting for. They took about 30 mins to call me back and I waited in the chair for another 40 for the dentist to come in. She was rough and a little rude and didn't apologize for the wait. The second visit I was supposed to go in to get some fillings and I was in the waiting room for almost an hour. They called me back and I sat in the chair for 20 minutes and finally had to flag someone down and tell them I needed to reschedule because I had another appointment that day. I will not be going back. This place is cold and unprofessional and they don't even try to schedule their patients correctly.

This is the worst dentist office I have ever been to. My friend recommended it to me because they accept mediIcaid. The first time I went in, I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was there for a checkup and cleaning. The assistant did the cleaning and then took my xrays. For some reason the Dr. could not see me so I had to come back for him to asses my mouth a week later which took 15 minutes. The Dr let me know of the cavities and scheduled an appointment to get that fixed. When I came in two weeks later for that appointment, I waited 45 minutes to go into the office while being on time for my appointment. Once I into the chair I waited another 20 minutes for the Dr to roughly inject my gums with the Novocaine. There I waited another hour and 20 minutes to have the Dr. come back and start singing to the damn radio and drilling on my mouth without saying a thing to me.By that point the injection had worn off and I could feel everything so I awkwardly asked him to stop. He injected me again and waited while talking office drama to the assistant across from him, while I'm laying there between them. So he starts drilling and is singing to the radio annoyingly being 3 inches from my face. Finishes part of the fillings and I'm scheduled to come back again. Well I'm on a tight schedule that day so I schedule my appointment early. I come in and wait again for an hour, get to the back and get stuck with Novocaine and patiently wait for another hour and a half while the assistants cackle all around me. I tell them I will need to come back and reschedule but I cant keep waiting. So I had no intentions of rescheduling so I get a call a few weeks later saying that I missed an appointment that I never made and now owe a fee for missing. I would never go back to this office. It's outrageously unprofessional and you are treated as a non talking machine that has time to waste in a rundown building. Save yourself, your time and your money, DO NOT go to this office.

I have been going to this dentist for quite sometime and now I couldn't be happier now that they have a new dentist! Dr Liao is great very patient and gentle! She makes you feel comfortable when we all know how much everyone dreads going to the dentist! Highly recommend seeing her at Southwest Family Dental!!! She is awesome! My son also went and is 10 he was very scared and she talked to him and help keep his mind off of what was going on!

If I could give no stars I would. I went in for a cleaning and was told I had four cavity’s. I made an appointment to have them filled and for a month after having it done, my tooth was hurting Really bad. The pain would shoot up into my gums with hot, cold, semi cold and like warm food or drinks. I went in to have it checked out and the dentist told me I had a “high spot”. I thought I’d have to make an appointment to have it fixed but the dentist came in and said she was going to fix this high spot. She started drilling my tooth without any numbing which was extremely painful and I stopped her right away. She then numbed me and once I was completely numb she continued. She then stopped and said I needed an appointment to have my tooth filled. She left my tooth with a huge hole in it and it was extremely painful even to breath. They made an appointment for two days from that day. I couldn’t take the pain and called them to let them know I needed to be seen sooner to fill the giant hole she left me with. They saw me the next day and I asked the assistant if the dentist would be drilling my tooth at all, I let her know that the dentist had already drilled my tooth the day before and how I was in so much pain. She asked another assistant to make sure and the other assistant said I was having an extraction. I called my husband immediately to let him know I was leaving because they were going to pull my tooth out, the second assistant then asks me what was going on exactly, I told her I had my tooth drilled the day before and that all I was supposed to have done was my filling. She told me to hold on so she can talk to the dentist then comes back and says I’m just having a filling. So they take me to another area to have the procedure done and I hear “This is the extraction right?” I look up scared as can be thinking they were coming to me but it was for the man next to me. Idk how they confused me with a 60 year old man but anyway the dentist comes in and I ask again, “I’m just having my filling done right?” She says yes. I close my eyes which I always do during dental procedures and the dentist starts drilling. I stop her and ask why she’s drilling and she gives me an attitude like I’m not allowed to ask about MY TOOTH. She says she has to remove the filling completely so apparently the day before she only drilled a big hole in my tooth. So she continues and the entire time I’m shaking from being so nervous after everything that had gone on. She drills and drills and drills and it seems like forever. Finally she finished and told me if it continues to hurt, I need to make an appointment to be seen again.. when I got to my car I felt my tooth with my tongue and realized it extremely short. I look at it and it’s literally the size of a child’s tooth. It’s my back tooth the second to last. Its still in pain. I can’t eat on that side, and have to drink through a straw so that it doesn’t hurt and even brushing that tooth hurts really back. Any type of pressure is painful. I do not recommend this Dr Wen

Wonderful staff, they really take care and make sure you understand what is going on.

I understand how the rating were so low before their new dentist. Dr Owen (their previous dentist) was rude. Their dental hygienist was the one who kept us going back she was great! And did most of my work! But now that Dr Liao is there it is like a WHOLE new office! She is amazing! Very happy and pleased! For those of you who were not happy with the previous dentist go in and give Dr Liao an opportunity to change your mind!
