Found them over 2 years ago when we moved to Franklin NC. The insurance I had through Cobra after retiring had no providers in network anywhere near here and this was the closest out if network provider, in Asheville 50+ miles away, that accepted my plan. We liked the practice and Dr. Bob Harris who recently retired, so much that we continue to travel to Asheville to see them although my Cobra insurance has terminated. Dr. Crumley is now the provider and we like her as well. They accept many dental plans that help reduce our costs, work with us for our appointments to get hubby and I in at the same time or back to back appts. to reduce our travel, are friendly and efficient. I have essential tremors which causes me to shake, especially my head. They have always been so patient with me and just "ride the wave" with my tremors, as Dr. Bob used to say! Hubby and I would highly recommend Appalachian Dental Associates.

Maybe it was a case of the Mondays, but my first visit today left me less than happy. Soon as I was called back, it quickly became The Waiting Game. The X-ray equipment wouldn't boot up, so after a few tries, the assistant took me to the exam room. She did her thing and then I waited and waited and waited and waited for the dentist. She finally got to me an hour after my appointment time.
All through my cleaning, I swear I could hear "cha-ching! cha-ching!" in the background as the hygienist recommended a resin to cover a couple of places where my gums are receding. "Each one is $34". Custom night guard: $$$. Fluoride treatment: $$. At-home fluoride rinse: $$. That's not all, folks...I had to pay and then I will be reimbursed from my insurance plan. I was not prepared for that expense, trust me. I have never, ever in all my 60 years of dental visits paid three figures to a dentist up front.
Let's just say I was left with a bad taste in my mouth [pun intended].

Polite and efficient, however the totally reclined position when having teeth cleaned/examined was quite uncomfortable for me and exacerbated my stiff neck problems.
