Dr. Marc A. Nordstrom, DMD
Review of Dr. Marc A. Nordstrom, DMD
Dr. Marc A. Nordstrom, DMD is a dentist located in Bend, Oregon. The office is situated in a beautiful location with views of the Deschutes River. Patients appreciate the friendly and considerate staff, and Dr. Nordstrom is known for his patience and compassion.
Many patients have been seeing Dr. Nordstrom for years and have had excellent care. He is gentle and listens to his patients, making sure they are completely numb before continuing with any procedure. Patients appreciate that they never feel like they're getting an "upsell" on dental services, which seems to be too common these days.
Dr. Nordstrom offers conscious sedation for more cringe-worthy procedures, which is a plus for those who are nervous about visiting the dentist. He has been known to take the time to address and talk through his patients' fears due to traumatic experiences with dental work in the past.
While most patients have had positive experiences with Dr. Nordstrom, there have been a few negative reviews. One patient had a crown fall out shortly after it was put in, and another had an implant fail. However, Dr. Nordstrom did remove the implant for no charge.
Overall, Dr. Marc A. Nordstrom, DMD is a great choice for those looking for a kind and compassionate dentist in Bend, Oregon.

Hands down best dentist in town, very honest, staff are very polite and helpful. I had an infection and they squeezed me in that day when they were really busy. It swelled again on Sunday and I called Dr. Nordstrom and he met me at his practice within an hour. Very gentle and nice I highly recommend them to anybody!

Marc has the best dentist office in Bend Oregon. I have been to his practice for the last 6 years and Marc and his staff are wonderful. My list starts with fillings, crowns. extractions, and implants. I have had a great experience there and absolutely no problems with any of the work performed there. My daughter goes there as well and they have been great with her also. If your looking for a great dentist for your entire family look no further!

First and foremost, Dr. Nordstrom has a great staff, no complaints about them.
A little more than a year ago Dr. Nordstrom put 2 crowns in with temporary cement. I asked a lot of questions about what to eat, drink, etc., as one would. A few hours later I was sitting in the Redmond airport, drinking water, and one of them fell out!!
Underneath is exposed nerve, which caused a lot of pain.
Panicking, I used the family restroom so I could apply the temporary cement and put the tooth back in. As I put the tooth back in, the OTHER ONE FELL OUT!
I had to make an emergency dentist appointment for a different dentist in the state I was traveling to.
They did take care of paying for my trip to this out-of-state dentist, which is the right thing to do.
I figured it was a one-time thing until the work I got done 7 weeks ago. I went in for a routine cleaning and was told that one of my old fillings needed to be replaced.
No biggie, I made an appointment to come back in and get it taken care of. The filling gets replaced but feels different. For the next 5 weeks following, I was unable (still unable) to chew on that side. Any time pressure is applied, it aches. I called in and made an appointment to have it looked at. Dr. Nordstrom says that my bite is a bit off and takes corrective action to the filling. I'm assured that everything should be better from here on out and if there's still pain after 2 weeks, call again.
Well, 2 1/2 weeks later and I still can't chew on that side. I make another appointment. Dr. Nordstrom says that there's inflammation and I'll likely need a root canal, here's a referral to an endodontist. He said that 80% of the time, there's no issue but in my case, it's an issue. I've had fillings replaced in the past, crowns put in and have NEVER run into so many issues with dental work. When I expressed my frustration, I was given a list of reasons, no ownership of mistakes made by his work. Now, I'll likely have to get a root canal on a tooth that I never had any issues to begin with.
Get a filling replaced, pay for it, then need to get a root canal after the fact? Seems legit.
If you want to get your teeth cleaned, they have really cool views of the river but if you're looking for any additional work, I would definitely look elsewhere.

I was visiting my son in the Bend area and had a tooth emergency in route. I cracked a tooth and was in severe pain. My son recommended Marc Nordstrom and his staff to take care of me. I called the office in route, told them of my situation and I was in his office the following morning. The office staff, dental technicians with Dr. Marc's personal and professional treatment made this situation as pleasant as possible. My treatment was second to none and would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Marc Nordstrom and his great staff to anyone in the Bend, OR area..

Many people talk about their past dental horror stories, and I've had my share. Dr. Nordstrom is my savoir when it comes to dental medicine. He has been taking care of me for a few years now and I fear the day he retires because I never want to see anyone else!!! He is kind and gentle and LISTENS to his patients. If I say it is painful he will stop and make sure that I am completely numb instead of just ignoring my pain and trucking on. This has happened to me numerous times I have seen other dentists. They actually tell me that MY pain isn't real. i.e. "You can't be in pain I already numbed you" and then zzzzzzzz on with the drill. Dr. Nordstrom is the most compassionate dentist and treats his patients very well!

Dr. Nordstom and his staff are excellent! I would give 6 stars if I could! They did a superb job with my dental implant and bone graft a year ago. Dr. Nordstrom was professional and compassionate - taking the time to address and talk through my very real fears due to the traumatic way in which I lost the natural tooth. I lost my tooth at age 19 and wore a prosthetic (flipper) for 20 years - due to anxiety about experiencing that type of pain again in the same spot. Because of the length of time, I had significant bone attrition/loss in my upper jaw. Dr. Nordstrom and his staff did the graft and set the implant months later. There were no complications, and the process was exactly as explained. My wife says my smile is finally perfect (much better than with the flipper), and there is no better compliment than that! I can bite into an apple again for the first time since I was a kid!
Not only is Dr. Nordstrom great, his staff is phenomenal - every time I walk through the door, I feel like I am reuniting with family. I give my highest recommendation!

I love my dentist! I recently needed a crown done and when i had to get numb (my least favorite part) he has a machine that delivers the anesthetic at a rate where it was PAINLESS! The assistant and doctor checked in several times during the procedure to make sure i was doing ok, which made me feel at ease. They make all their crowns in office, so a ceramist came up to take a custom shade and make sure the color blended in with the rest of the teeth. He does a great job and is very gentle. Whenever i come in for a cleaning or to see the doctor Im seated right upon my arrival. The office is located right on mirror pond, where you can see ducks, birds and wildlife

Dr. Guy was my dentist for many years. I switched to Dr. Nordstrom when Dr. Guy retired. In 2012, Dr. Nordstrom pulled a tooth that had previously had a root canal and placed an implant. The implant failed. Another local dentist told me that the implant was not placed right by Dr. Nordstrom. Nordstrom did remove the implant for no charge. I have now found out that the bone adjacent to the failed implant had continued to recede around the teeth next to the implant Nordstrom put in. I now need to spend an exhorbananant amount of money to see a dental surgeon who will try and repair my upper jaw with bone grafting.
I would never recommend this dentist. Do not let him talk you into getting implants!

Dr Marc Nordstrom and his staff are the kindest and most considerate dental professionals that I have met in many years. I am so glad that I have met them in my retirement!!!
