I was thrilled with my experience at Canby Smiles. I love their office. The office staff were genuinely welcoming. The care by Dr. Wieland was exceptional. He is a compassionate person who is a perfectionist in dental care. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to all my friends living in Oregon, EVEN Washington!! He would be worth the drive.
Dr. Wieland is someone you can trust your whole family's dental care. My kids love having him do their dental work. He was able to do a root canal on my 7 year old. She was pain free and made comfortable!
I saw Dr. Wieland as patient while I lived in Gresham for 6 years. Then our family was transferred to Minnesota for work. We have had to find a new dentist but travel still brings us to the Portland area and we continue to see him for dental care. Any major dental care, we try to plan a visit so he can do our dental work!

I regularly go to the dentist and I take care of my teeth. I decided to try a dentist a little closer to home, so I had a new patient evaluation done at Canby Smiles. I left the office feeling literally sick to my stomach. I was told I had 7 cavities, had serious gum issues that required more dental visits annually, and that I needed extensive gum surgery. My treatment plan that Canby Smiles laid out for me was a total of over $12,000! I chose to get a second opinion elsewhere and was told I had 1 cavity and that my typical 2x/year visits were enough to keep a healthy mouth. I am extremely offended that a local dentist would lie to me and try to take advantage of me financially! I recommend new patients get a 2nd opinion. This was my most traumatic dentist appointment ever!

I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Dr. Weiland and his staff. I am always made comfortable- even when I had a root canal. It was so much easier than I thought it would be! They did so much to calm my fears and leave my teeth in comfort. The staff really knows me, enough to send flowers when I gave birth to my daughter. When insurance was fighting the payment for my crown, the office went to bat for me and appealed. I couldn't recommend this office more!
