Super nice Dr and staff. Unfortunately, I got implants and caps on my whole upper. 1 by one starting at 2 years every one failed. I still have one bridge implant that is constantly infected and am going to have to have it removed. I had to go a year with no front teeth , thank God for masks.

This is hands down the best dental office in Portland. I came to see Dr Carothers after a filling job went wrong at another clinic. I was also told by the other dentist that I had several more cavities that needed fillings. They fixed the earlier filling for a reasonable price and did new x-rays that showed I did not actually have cavities that needed fillings.
Since then, I have gone to see them for routine cleaning appointments. I get the best care everytime. It is always very quick and painless. They handled me to actually floss my teeth which is probably what speeds up the process and makes it pain-free.
The office staff are likewise very friendly and professional.
The office is located pretty far out for me, and there is another dentist office across the street from my apartment that would be much more convenient. This goes to show just how good Dr Carothers and his team are that I would rather drive all the way to them instead of walk across the street.

Update Feb 2023:
Dr. Carothers and team continue to be my top choice and I now live in Beaverton!! I went today to get a filling repaired (from an earlier dentist before I found Dr. Carothers) and they took such good care of me! They talked me through the anesthesia as needles make me uncomfortable, and I felt very at ease in their hands. It was a quick procedure and good work!! Thank you!!!

I have had a fear of going to dentists for years, but I needed to go! A friend of mine, Nate, told me about Dr Carothers. The receptionist was so kind, and got me in, and Dr Carothers and All his staff were excellent!! Eventually I will know all thier names, as I avoided going to a dentist for over 10 years!!!! I no longer have the anxiety associated with a dental visit! Dr Carothers is very knowledgeable and proficient!!! I am so fortunate to now have great dental care!!!!

I needed to find a dentist and fortunately ended up at Dr. Carothers' office. It had been 9 years since I had seen a dentist (I know) and I was very apprehensive about this visit. I was very well treated at his office and had the needed work done in very short order. Dr. Carothers' manner is thoughtful, gentle (I'm a dental weenie), and skilled. The entire office staff are all friendly, attentive and skilled. I have nothing to complain about, and will return for my 6 month check-up with only the bare minimum of fear and loathing!

I've had Dr. David Carothers as my dentist for 21 years and will never go anywhere else! From phone calls and making appointments to billing and actual dentist visits, I've never had an issue. The staff is always extremely friendly, up-tone and happy to be there as well making sure you're doing okay and having a good experience. I highly recommend you make them your dentist!

Dr. David N. Carothers, DDS is a wonderful dentist! I arrived at his office requiring a crown on a broken tooth and the replacement of several old, disintegrating amalgam fillings. Dr. Carothers and his kind and capable staff saw me through the entire process with a sense of humor and a complete willingness to hear my feedback and make me happy with the results. I had to drive from SW Portland several times to see him and I did so thankfully! Highly recommend!
