Dr. Ryan and Denise are amazing to work with! They listened carefully to all of our concerns, and even requested notes from other specialists we worked with to make sure they were providing the very best care for our daughter. Well, they met our expectations and beyond! All went very smoothly. No problems afterward. If we have to use anesthesia again they are the team we want and we won't waste our time being worried, that's for sure!

Wonderful experience for my son with autism. My eleven year old with special needs was very nervous but they were extremely patient with him through the whole process. They called ahead of time to see what he needed and what would make him more comfortable. Denise spent a good 45 minutes with me on the phone going over his special needs before the procedure. Denise was patient while my son decided how he wanted to be put under. Dr. Allred was kind and compassionate. He came over to my son to show him the mask he would be breathing through and let him touch it to get him comfortable. He fell asleep with no pain and no trauma. When he woke up they brought us to him and both Denise and Dr. Allred stayed with us the entire time he was waking up. They didn't rush him to be ready to leave and told us to take our time. After he was ready Denise walked us to our car and praised my son for doing such a good job and handling it all well. My son is excited to go back for his two week follow up! It couldn't have gone any better. We are so grateful for Portland Dental Anesthesia for taking great care of our child. Highly recommend!

My 8 year old daughter needed to have 2 extra teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment and like any parent I was very nervous for her to be put under. We showed up at the Dentist office at 5am as scheduled. An hour went by and the dentist nor the office manager had heard anything from Dr.Allred. We went home unsure of what was going to happen and then got a call from the dentist office and ended up returning at 7am to have the procedure done- two hours after scheduled time. Dr. Allred offered nothing more than βIβm sorry my alarm didnβt go offβ. It was incredibly unprofessional and left bad taste in my mouth but I just hoped he was rested and we could get the procedure done. My daughter had to get a shot which she was aware of. He gave my daughter bubbles - told her to blow bubbles and then sneak stuck her with the needle. I donβt understand this because Denise, who took all the information from me, had asked what will make her the most comfortable and I told her my daughter liked to be explained to what was being done while it was being done. None of the information I gave her was utilized by Dr. Allred. I also donβt understand the distraction with bubbles when my daughter is 8, almost 9, years old. She can handle a shot and didnβt need to be distracted anyway-which I had told Denise on the phone as well that she handled shots pretty well. He didnβt even pinch the area to deaden the nerves so it wouldnβt hurt as bad. It was ridiculous. So of course the shot works fast and my daughter passed out crying. It was horrible. The procedure was quick and when she woke up she was crying- for 40 minutes straight. Dr.Allred came by and said thatβs normal and then I never saw him again. His assistant Mellissa was helping as much as she could but between me, my mom and her we were barely able to contain my daughter and keep her from hurting herself while she was crying and flailing around coming off of the medicine. Dr. Allred did not come by and help at all although I know he heard her crying the whole time because everyone in the office did- Iβm sure he was too busy catching up on his other patients that were waiting since he had slept in. The whole experience was so traumatic and I cry thinking about it. My daughter is very upset about the way he sneak stuck her with the needle. She wanted to know when the needle was coming and she wanted him to pinch the area hard before he did it- if he bothered to talk to her at all she would have told him that. We didnβt get much care or concern from him at all about anything. I do not recommend this place and I completely regret getting this done with Portland Dental Anesthesia.

Dr. Allred and his staff are amazing! I was absolutely terrified when I was told my 4yr old daughter needed general anesthesia to have a couple teeth extracted. I got to talk with Dr. Allred assistant Denise a couple days prior, she answered my questions and put me at ease. She talked me through step by step what the process was going to be. The day of the procedure I got to talk with Dr. Allred. Super easy to talk to. He truly understands how difficult this can be for parents. He sat with me and answered the additional questions I had. He was absolutely amazing with my daughter! I new she was going to get a shot prior so they could place a IV catheter and I was absolutely dreading it! My daughter freaks out with vaccines so I was waiting for a meltdown, but Dr. Allred amazingly distracted her with bubbles!!! I was amazed! It was over before she even realized what happened! The whole process went so smoothly. I got to sit with her after when she was waking up and Denise stayed with me and then helped me out to the cars once my daughter was ready. I can not sing there praises enough. They really took what I thought was going to be a terrifying experience and made it surprisingly somewhat relaxing. They are incredible! Thank you Dr. Allred and Denise for your wonderful help!

We had to do a dental treatment for my 5 year old son which required general anesthesia. My wife and I were very scared to put him on anesthesia but Dr Ryan and Denise made us very comfortable by patiently explaining the procedure. On the day of treatment, Dr Ryan took care of our son like his own and it was such a relief that everything went well.

We had to have a broken tooth extracted and crowns put on for my 3 year old daughter which required general anesthesia. My family was so nervous because we had never done anesthesia and my daughter is allergic to many antibiotics, so any new medicine is a bit nerve wracking. However, Dr. Allred and Kelly made us very comfortable by patiently explaining what would happen and answering all of the numerous questions we had prior to the procedure. On the day of appointment, Dr. Allred again patiently answered questions before the procedure and took great care of our daughter during and afterwards.

My 2 year old daughter chipped her tooth and needed a pulpotomy, and in order to do so she needed general anesthesia. Dr. Allred was amazing and made sure we were well informed. It made us feel comfortable knowing how prepared he was, and how well she was being monitored. She went to sleep, and woke up without having any memory of what could have been a scary procedure.

I have a 2 year old son who was recommended to get dental procedures done to prevent further issues, as a mother my biggest fear was for him to be put out. I have never experienced anastisia...especially with a young child. Long story short we went through with the procedure and I am so excited to share with all other parents reading this that Dr. Allred is the most caring, conforting, educated Dr. The entire team treated us like family. After they took him to the room I knew he was in good hands. I will never forget him and his team for making a nervous situation become a relief. Thank you so much for reading, I hope I can help someone else with their decision. Dr. Allred is the best!
