Robert M. Lum, DDS- Brilliant Smiles Family Dental Care

tldr: Avoid going to this dental care facility if possible. I am giving this 1 start review based on our experience during the first scheduled appointment. The front-desk staff (Gabby) is extremely rude and doesn't care about new patients. First, they cancelled our appointment without talking to us. Later, they scheduled the appointment and kept us waiting for 45min and after complaining about the wait time they tried to put the blame on us. We have a newborn at home, and every new parent will understand how much it takes to co-ordinate a doctor's visit. They wasted our 1 hour. I would strongly recommend people to not visit this dental care for their dentist needs.

Dr. Robert M. Lum and the entire staff are wonderful! Dr. Lum is very knowledgeable, professional and down to earth. He provided me with options on how to go about things. He was direct and answered my questions. Highly recommend, very clean office.

Everyone from the front desk to the dentist had great teeth! Great friendly atmosphere accompanied by great people! They truly care about your smile!!!

Dr. Robert Lum did the checkup and the cleanup, not someone under him, I appreciated it. The office is very modern, clean and not open which I like. I hate seeing other people and being looked at by other during treatment. They have small areas for each patient. The only negative was that it took 40 minutes to get started but otherwise, it was good. I would recommend and will come back. Also, I didn't feel any pressure on anything like few other dentist where they try to charge you for many additional treatments.

Dr Lum is a great Dentist. Dr Lum has been my dentist for several years now. He and his staff are super efficient and friendly. Dr Lum does everything (cleaning too) except the X-Rays. Super diligent and never rushes to do fillings when the defect can be monitored for a while. He and the staff are a pleasure, good honest dentistry. The new office is really nice to, very High-Tech and modern. I have referred friends and family and continue to do so.

I've had the pleasure of having Dr. Lum as my dentist for more than 10 years. Dr. Lum is always on time for scheduled appointments, is professional with a warm and caring personality. He explains the treatment he is going to perform and listens to any questions or concerns I may have. He is confident about his treatments and has the experience to perform them. I have been here for years, Dr. Robert Lum is very serious and picky in his work, but this is very good to patient because you don't want you teeth clean or treatment just rush and perfunctory done.

Dr. Lum has been taking care of my teeth since Dr. Stromfeld retired. Recently I chipped two different teeth in the space of about 3 weeks. Dr. Lum quickly fit me in his schedule and painlessly repaired both teeth. They look better than they did before I chipped them! He does a thorough examination of teeth health and gum condition during routine cleanings. Dr. Lum takes time to patiently explain every procedure along with the cost and alternatives. I have always felt my teeth are in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Lum and his courteous, efficient staff to anyone searching for a dentist.

My wife and family have utilize Dr. Robert Lum's professional dentistry service for more than five years at the most. When our former dentist retired, we were wondering if we should seek elsewhere since we didn't know Dr. Robert Lum at that time. We stayed as a customer loyal to our former and wanted to try out our new dentist (Dr. Robert Lum). We weren't disappointed and was very happy we did not make a transaction to look elsewhere. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for dentistry type of work. We are currently using him for our regular dental work.

Takes great care of your teeth, when replacing old filling takes care to ensure minimum pain, I felt none. Doesn't try to perform unnecessary work.

Dr. Lum has been my Dentist for about 12 yrs. I was a patient of Dr. Stromfeld for many years and he retired. Dr. Lum has really impressed me with his knowledge and attention to detail. He as been a great dentist. His staff is nice and very professional. His establishment has a relax environment with updated technology. What do you do when when your trusted long-time dentist (and personal friend) has decided to retire? Fortunately, my old dentist was able to recommend Dr. Robert Lum, someone who would continue the same high standards and positive experiences. He and his staff are friendly, accommodating, professional and highly competent. A few years ago I moved from the San Jose area to Sonoma County in the North Bay, but I continue to drive to San Jose to see Dr. Lum for dental work. It is worth the two-hundred mile round trip. In the fall of 2015 I had a friend who was suffering from multiple dental problems. He had been raised in a remote rural area of Mexico where basic services are so limited that he had never seen a dentist. Dr. Lum was the best possible choice to be his first dentist. He was kind and patient as he explained each step of each procedure. Dr. Robert Lum is an excellent dentist. Many of us rely on him for our continued dental health and friendly smiles. He is down-to-earth and easy to talk to. I strongly recommend Dr Robert Lum.

My wife and I and my mother and father have been going to Dr. Lum since the time he opened an office in San Jose. They are fantastic! Knowledgeable, Friendly, Super Clean office and facility. We have never had a mistake with our Insurance provider using his office, so they obviously know how to manage the administrative part as well. I trust this practice because my former dentist (family friend) was willing to move his patients to Dr. Lum ... and my former dentist was incredibly and extremely particular about his dentistry and his patients so he would not forward his patients here unless he really trusted and saw his work first hand.
