Abby, Rebecca's assistant, and Rebecca, both were professional and gentle. They answered my questions, particularly about which is better; a water flosser or string floss. Rebecca explained that the higher the number that she gives when she's measuring the gum depth, the more the gum is separated from the tooth. A water flosser is more effective for 4 and above. It cleans out the space between the gum and the tooth. String floss is more beneficial for healthier gums with lower numbers, 1-3. The gums are closer to the teeth. With string, you can get under the gum better to clean it. Be sure to ask for your chart for that day. The column on the right explains what the marks on the chart mean. You can see on the chart where you need to brush better and floss better.

I’ve always had excellent care at Cordera Family Dentistry with Dr Stilson as my primary dentist. Over the past couple of weeks, I needed a temp crown and the final crown installed today (15 Feb). Unfortunately, I managed to dislodge the temp crown after eating chocolate with caramel last night (yep, the doctor is serious when he says to avoid that stuff). Dr Stilson was able to see me today on an emergency basis (one day prior to my scheduled appointment) with the winter storm creating a calendar opening. One of his administrative assistants drove to their satellite office to pick up the crown for install since my appointment on the 16th was at that office near Chapel Hills Mall. Dr Stilson has a sure hand and puts a patient at ease with clear explanations of what he is doing and why. Service at Cordera Family Dentistry has been outstanding across the board for me for the past 3 years. I highly recommend them to you and your family.
