Washington Elite Dentistry

This review concerns only the Invisalign service offered by Washington Elite. I do not at all recommend obtaining Invisalign treatment here, as the office’s practices are misleading. I do not mean that they intentionally mislead patients, but I believe they should disclose much more information at the outset of an Invisalign plan. Here’s my experience: When I was first told by my usual dentist (not Washington Elite) that I needed Invisalign to correct a defect in my bite, that dentist estimated that the treatment would require approximately 8 months. I explored other Invisalign options in the area, and I found Washington Elite, which informed me that they could complete the treatment in 4 months. On the basis of their representation, I opted for the much shorter course of treatment offered by Washington Elite. Washington Elite, however, failed to live up to its end of the bargain. I began my treatment in September and concluded in December—or so I thought. After finishing the treatment plan in December, Washington Elite informed me that the process was not actually complete. Instead, I needed an additional 3+ months of treatment, lasting from December into late March. I protested that they told me originally that they could complete the process in 4 months, but to no avail. I acceded to the next course of treatment, and I recently finished that course. Once more, I hoped that I had completed the process, but Washington Elite again informed me this was not the case. Instead, I required yet more treatment that could last another 2.5 months or more. I again protested that such continued treatment was contrary to their original representations, but to no use. I am accordingly locked into what appears to be a treatment cycle with no definite end point, as I cannot trust the representations of Washington Elite at this point. I do not recommend this practice. My first cleaning went fine. However, when the dentist came in she pushed $500 worth of sealants on my teeth. I told her I would need to check with my insurance and was going to hold off for the time being since this was the first time I had been approached about sealants. I left feeling like the practice was more profit oriented, but okay overall. 6 months later I came back for another cleaning. The hygienist was nice. When Dr. Berman came in she told me I had cavities. I responded saying that I had never had a cavity before in my life and how would something develop that quickly when my x-rays, etc. were normal at my last visit. Her words were “you didn’t get the sealants last time and so now you have cavities.” She then walked away and said she would update my notes later with which teeth needed which work. I felt unsettled by this comment and left with an appointment for fillings, but no treatment plan provided by the office. Upon going for a second opinion at my longtime hometown dentist, I was told I did NOT have cavities and would not need fillings. They also said that they also were shocked to see the office add a pulp cap to my treatment plan as it was completely unnecessary even if I did need fillings. This practice feels like it is teetering into unethical territory and up-charging patients for profit. If you go, trust your gut and always go for a second opinion somewhere else.

I’ve been with them for at least 3-4 years now doing many procedures and out of the all the places I’ve been to, Washington Elite Dentistry is truly the best with no competition! Dr. Berman is the best at her job, she’s very likable, funny and is highly progressional while ensuring that every procedure is done flawlessly. The assistants like Gwen are delightful to be around and I also have to mention receptionist Michelle as she’s one of the kindest and relatable people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She can easily break down all procedures, how they’re done, what to expect for yourself and has this gift of making you feel less anxious about what you have going on. They’re also super flexible on payment options so you don’t have to worry about spending too much money on your first appointment To any who are looking for a clean, top tier, and affordable dentistry with overall likable staff, look no further than Washington Elite Dentistry! You won’t be disappointed.

Great dentist office! I went after having not gone to the dentist for the duration of the pandemic, and they we're great. Easy to get an appointment, clear about costs, kind people, and great staff. The team was great as individuals but also worked extremely well together. Kimberly the hygienist was professional, kind, great at her job and hilarious. And Dr. Austin was also super personable, kind and great at his job. He also took 20 maybe even 30 minutes after he had finished everything else to answer my many questions about my teeth. Very knowledgable and made complex concepts easily accessible. 10/10.

I’ve been coming to Washington Elite Dentistry for a number of years now and can’t say enough good things about Dr. Berman and her team. Up until last year I’d primarily been seeing Dr. Berman just for routine check-ups. I recently decided to have some cosmetic work done and just wanted leave a quick note to say how satisfied I am with the results and thank the team for their excellent service! I’m extremely happy with my new smile and glad I’ve found such a great dentist!

I would avoid this practice for a few reasons. First, the technician treating me used offensive language (calling her coworkers the “r” word) and admitted she hadn’t eaten all day and could “hardly pay attention.” The dentist working with me then dropped several tools on my face and sprayed my eyes with water by accident. I didn’t much mind this (and otherwise had no issues), but I was then recommended over $1,000 in services without even being shown X-Rays to verify the work that he claimed needed completion. I got two second opinions by different practices in DC who confirmed only one of these services (under $200) was necessary—and that several of the recommendations (replacing fillings before they require it) can actually be damaging to dental health long term. This comports with Yelp reviews in which multiple patients confirm this practice to be up-charging. Long story short: choose another provider (I ended up with Washington Center for Dentistry and am quite happy). I wouldn’t have switched dentists apart from the up-charging issues since the dentist was very friendly, gentle, and thorough with my cleaning.

I recently visited Washington Elite Dentistry and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The office was clean, modern, and comfortable. I felt like my dental health was in great hands. I especially appreciated their attention to detail and their willingness to answer all of my questions. I recently visited Washington Lead Dentistry for the first time, and I am beyond thrilled with the results! I had been to three other dental practices prior to this one, and none of them were able to apply a crown correctly. From the moment I stepped into the office, I felt welcomed and respected. The staff was friendly and professional, and they immediately took me through the process of getting my crown. The dental hygienist was so knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process to me. The dentist was also extremely knowledgeable and skillful. He was gentle and attentive, and he took the time to make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I was amazed at how quickly he was able to apply the crown, and I am incredibly happy with the results. I would highly recommend Washington Lead Dentistry to anyone looking for a professional, experienced and reliable dental practice. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the results, and I am so thankful for their outstanding service. Always a pleasure when visiting Dr. Harbison at this office! I’ve had a regular dentist for almost 20 years prior to switching to Dr. Harbison and he has the same kind and thoughtful demeanor as my previous dentist. The office staff always are always helpful and go above and beyond to help resolve any issue. They give you options for your care and let you decide and never push to get you to buy anything you don’t want.

Excellent service, this dental practice was able to set me up for an appointment very quickly, I came in from overseas & needed some urgent treatment for a loose tooth. The whole process was handled very professionally, staff were very friendly & helpful, & very clear & explanatory about what needed to be done; I walked away feeling a huge sense of relief that my dental issue had been resolved, & most likely on future visits to the DC area, I would come here again, without doubt.

Dr. Berman and her staff are the best! I hadn’t been back to work in DC since Covid in 2020 and they got me right in for a cleaning. I have had painful experiences with dentists in the past but I feel safe and comfortable under Dr. Berman’s care. I appreciate the entire staff, from dental assistants to the front office, they take time to explain procedures & costs to you and work with you to achieve the most favorable outcome. I highly recommend them.

I rarely write reviews about specific employees who make their business shine, but Jessica, the Office Manager of the 555 12th St location, has gone above and beyond in terms of customer service—and so I very highly recommend Washington Elite Dentistry. Yesterday, after almost a year of Invisalign and (although 100% satisfied with Dr. Burman’s excellent treatment) a bit discouraged by having to wear retainers that were giving me issues for the next year, I came in for a consultation about options as to different retainers. I was past the warranty period, so assumed I’d have to pay for new retainers. But Jessica assured me that she would make everything right, and sure enough, she called me later that day to tell me that she convinced Invisalign to give me new retainers for free. The part that struck me the most was the excitement in her voice when she said she was able to obtain from Invisalign what I was hoping for. This goes above and beyond customer service, and shows that you will be in good hands if you choose this place.

I have been going to Washington Elite Dentistry for many years. Everyone who works there is so kind. They take the time to explain everything and treat the patients with understanding and compassion. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Dr. Harbison was amazing and I can't speak highly enough of his work, professionalism, and courtesy. I went in for an initial intake which consisted of X-Rays, a modeling of my teeth/gums, a cleaning, and a review of future work needed. He explained everything very well and always made sure to ask if I have any questions. On my follow up appointment for a filling, I never felt nervous and he explained everything as he went along. The procedure was painless (shockingly!), quick, and I had minimal recovery time. Again, I can't recommend Dr. Harbison enough, especially for nervous patients like myself.

I don't like going to the dentist. I have always avoided it. But the staff here is great, and they truly care about their clients. I look forward to every visit.

I am truly blessed to have found this dentistry, they have changed me as a person, just from changing my smile. Dr. Berman expertise in dental care along with her incomparable team make up a dental family that can’t be found anywhere else. It’s no exaggeration to say, “ They All Honestly care about you and your dental health”. Five stars isn’t enough when rating a facility that you can’t find a flaw in!!!!
