I highly recommend Lahaina Smiles. Dr. Kadohiro and his team are professional and a caring crew. You could not ask for better. My wife and I were on a cruise and she broke her tooth resulting in an emergency situation. Once in port we search for a dentist close by. We called and stopped by several dentist who would not take us saying they were all full. My wife needed help and finally we ended up at Lahaina Smiles. They told us they were full for the day but they showed concern for us and recognized our emergency situation and thus took us in. Fabulous people. We are very thankful for them talking care of our needs. As a result we were able to continue and enjoy the rest of our cruise. They did great work. My wife is very happy with the results.

This dental office has helped me overcome my fears of dental work! Everyone from the front desk receptionists, to the hygienists and Dr. Barba made me feel so comfortable and supported from my first initial visit. Not only is my mouth cleaned and back in great health, so is my mind. Allison and Pauline at the front desk are SO FRIENDLY and organized, very clear communication. I have seen two hygienists, Wendy and Tiara, both of them took amazing care of me and did great work in restoring health back to my teeth and gums. I had feelings done by Dr. Barba, same goes with his protocol: super efficient, friendly and patient. 10/10 would recommend this office if you are looking for a dentist on Maui!

This office makes their own crowns, I had a tooth treated AND crown placed in the same day! The office staff are wonderful and I appreciate Alison’s assistance with my billing questions. The spirit of aloha is very much alive and being put into practice at Lahaina Smiles Dental. I am aware that this phrase has been overused at times especially by advertising agencies in trying to sell a visit to the islands but I am someone who will be forever grateful for the caring spirit of the staff and especially to Dr. Steve Barba. At the start of my vacation I broke a tooth on the night before my departure on a Saturday to Maui. In conducting a search we happened upon Dr. Steve Barba and made a call into his office requesting assistance. Upon landing on Maui on Saturday he made a phone call to me to assess the severity of the situation. His care and concern were evident from the start and I was able to rest assured that I was in good hands, which was a great comfort as one feels vulnerable when experiencing a dental emergency and not knowing who to trust your care to. True to his word I was immediately contacted by his staff to come in first thing Monday morning and a plan of action was put into place and the situation remedied immediately…much to my relief and joy on a number of different levels. To be truthful, I was a hot mess… I am of an age where I have memories of the dark ages of dentistry that still haunt me… Dr. Barba and his amazing staff immediately did their best to put me at ease and treated me as if I was a beloved member of their family…a well loved “Auntie” who had entrusted her care to them. And that trust was well rewarded.. I will be forever grateful for the skilled care that I received at their hands …. There is so much more to this story but suffice it to say… Dr. Barba and his staff are thoughtful, professional and caring individuals who take your best interests into account and make you feel supported in your time of need…I might also mention that Dr. Barba is very gentle, calm in demeanor and the joy that he takes in his work shines through… his amazing assistant is worth her weight in gold. I have just been having a great experience with Lahaina Smiles, all the way around, From Dr.Barba, who came up with the game plan to fix my teeth and has done an excellent job with his assistant Raelle in doing so, to Tiara, their Dental Hygienist who got my teeth ready to be fixed, and Alison at the front desk, always making appointments work, and most of all I so appreciate Pauline, who made it all happen, coming up with a way to make it all happen financially. I'll never go anywhere else,they do make you smile again!!

Wanted to update that I been visiting this office since 2016. I had fillings that needed to be done and was recommended a root canal years ago. I also had a crown shortly after and I been staying on top of visits for cleaning from then to now. I continue to go and would like to recommend this office. Staff is very friendly and do excellent work

Since i moved here on maui 2008 untill now; Dr.Glen and his team has been hellping me and my family , cant thank him enough, The best here on maui:):)<3 always friendly and helpful-he always fix tooth problems ,and able ti fix it. Once i leave his office always with a smile"he does an Amazing job with his team:) we feel the aloha spirit! BIG mahalo:):):)

We were on day 2 of our vacation and my son broke his 2 front teeth. The on call dr called me back in the evening and saw us at 8 am the next day. Helped us during a very stressful situation and we were able to continue our vacation. Thank you !!!!!

I cannot thank this dentist office enough. Was here on Maui on vacation and lost my temporary front tooth. They saved my day and got me in within 30 minutes of me calling and got me a new temporary tooth by 4pm the same day! The whole office was really friendly. Allison at the front desk and Raelle the dentist assistant made me feel so welcome and Dr. Barba was the absolute best. So grateful for this team.

I loved Dr. Barba when he was in Kihei and found that he moved to Lahaina recently which was perfect! No more far drives for me! I had a tooth issue that he advised me about and repeatedly asked me each time I came in for a cleaning about a few years back and I kept saying I was ok. About 4 months ago it finally caught up to me and started hurting. When I went back to his previous office to find he was no longer there I was devastated because no one else knew what I was talking about and due to me being pregnant they didnt want to proceed til after I gave birth. I ended up finding Dr. Barba in Lahaina, sending over my x-rays and charts and he totally remembered my situation! I'm glad I was able to get to him and he laid down all my options prior to my decision. Super thankful he's still on island and totally helped me with a temporary fix that was safe for me and baby until I give birth. Greatly appreciate him and his staff at Lahaina Smiles! Definitely recommend :)

I couldn’t be more impressed with Dr Stephen Barba. I am in Lahaina on vacation and cracked a tooth and Dr Barba and Roelle met me on Saturday night at 6:30 and spent 2 1/2 hours working on my tooth. They did a great job and both were very kind and concerned during the procedure. Don’t look any further if you need a dentist and be sure to ask for Roelle to assist Dr Barba or clean your teeth. I chipped a molar a few days before I was to leave Maui for Canada ( and a 14 day Quarantine). Dr Barba explained my options was able to create a fix that was perfect to cover me until I could get to my dentist back home. I was grateful that I was taken care of at the first appointment and highly recommend that if you need to see a dentist in Maui, I would recommend this office.

I’ve been coming here ever since I moved to Maui a couple years ago and I absolutely love it! Everybody in this office is so nice and professional. I have a wonderful experience every time I come here. Dr. Kadohiro is THE BEST dentist ever- great at what he does and really cares about his patients. Wendy is the best dental hygienist- she is the only person I want cleaning my teeth. Sheri is super awesome, very informative and just a pleasure to be around. Alison is really sweet and always on it. Cris is super helpful and very understanding. They even offer headphones and a blanket for your comfort while they work on your teeth. So cool. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone and everyone. They’re great!
