It took over 6 weeks to get in. Text messages to remind you of appt. Missing an appointment leads you to very rude and condescending staff member named Pam.

Amazing! My teeth have never felt this smooth! My hygienist did an exceptional job! The entire staff was kind, friendly, complimentary and of course professional! I never thought I would say this but...I look forward to going back!

Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for Dr. Hamilton and her team. It started from the first moment I walked in the door when I was greeted with a smile and authenticity that I could feel. Dr Hamilton and the hygienist cleaning my teeth took a vested interest in my oral health, asked the right questions, and made me feel more comfortable and confident than I have felt anywhere else. (Especially after not being to this dentist in a couple years) One last thing that didn’t go unnoticed was the fact that the entire office has been revamped with a very modern look and feel. I have been a patient with Hawkeye Family Dental since we moved to Iowa City 2 years ago. Our entire family sees Dr. Sunny Hamilton. While we feel we received good dental care from the previous dentist, the transition to Dr. Hamilton and her team has been wonderful. I recently had new crowns put on, and Sunny along with Delaney did a fabulous job. My family is happy with the routine cleanings we receive, along with any additional care as needed. Their attention to detail is exceptional, and Rocky does a great job breaking down the fees and insurance coverage. Highly recommend their practice, we will continue to be patients for years to come! Keep up the great work!

The dentist is a nice lady, any and everything else- do not waste your time. Horrible business, will scam you by telling you that your insurance is accepted but the staff can’t give you a price so they need to contact your insurance company… then you will find out you owe a hefty bill. Just go somewhere that’s honest and not this place. Literally, anywhere else. Such a Scam and money hungry… They will act like they care but don’t question them on any parts of your bill or they will become defensive and rude.

The new owner of Hawkeye Family Dental did not notify patients that the practice had been sold and the dentist and most of the staff replaced. I found out when I showed up for my appointment. When I asked why patients were not notified, the response was "we have a month to notify people once a change is made". I am extremely disappointed in the new owner's lack of communication. It shows a lack of respect for their clients.

Very nice staff! I never feel like a stranger here considering I only visit twice a year for routine cleanings. They do a thorough job and give great advice on how to maintain a healthy mouth

I was so impressed with all the latest equipment, how caring, sensitive, compassionate, and friendly the whole staff was from the time you enter until leaving. A very pleasant visit and Dr. Sunny makes it as painless as possible. This is where I'm going the rest of my days. Charlie Brown

I do not recommend, especially if you have children. She traumatized my child, telling her if she can’t hold still and corporate that I would have to leave the room! This was about 5 years ago btw. My child is just now starting to be comfortable with her now dentist! You don’t tell a 2 year old that they are going to make their parent, the person they feel the safest with to leave the room if they can’t hold still and corporate! If this is how you treat children maybe you should stick with adults! Even then I wouldn’t go as an adult! Edit to reply to owner: I have the correct office, thank you. What I said DID happen. I don’t know if we caught the dentist on a bad day or what, but she told my child multiple times that she would send me out of the room if she didn’t hold still and do as she said. Which is very wrong.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else to keep my smile healthy!! And Kate is amazing! She manages that office so impeccably well! Always happy to help in any way she can and does it with a such an upbeat attitude!

Beware this practice, in my experience they recommend aggressive and unnecessary fillings that cause problems down the road. My advice- avoid this office and find a dentist in Iowa City that doesn't jump to drill and fill as a first resort.

No one really loves going to the dentist, but it's necessary if you want a healthy mouth and teeth. All I have to say is my experiences over the last 7+ years I've attended there at Hawkeye Family Dental are as pleasant as can be and they all definitely do what they can to minimize any stress for those of us with "white coat fever". A great clinic to go visit for your dental needs and Dr. Marcy Zwart DDS is as great as can be and I love that she did all her undergrad & dental school studies at the U of Iowa!

I called and the receptionist answered and I let her know I wanted to schedule an appointment. She just heard me and didn’t answer me and she hung up the phone. I proceeded to call again thinking the call dropped. She answered and left me hanging, she didn’t say a word. I grabbed another phone and called again to schedule my appointment and she answered that call.

By far the BEST Place to keep your teeth Happy!! So sad we are moving away, but Marcy and her team have made our last couple years of treatments so inviting that I actually look forward to going to the dentist now!!! Thank You So Much!

Everything went well. No surprises. Exceptionally friendly, caring and gentle staff. I have never had to wait past my appointment time until this last visit. They were obviously very busy because this time I did have to wait - about 20 minutes. That didn't bother me at all, but it could bother people who had other places to be after their appointment. Like I mentioned, it has never happened before.

Dr. Zwart and all the staff at Hawkeye Dental are AMAZING! I have a lot of anxiety with the dentist, but they go above and beyond to minimize that issue. Great team!

I cannot say enough positive things about Hawkeye Family Dental. The quality of care and level of expertise are outstanding. We are so lucky to have Dr. Zwart and her staff in our community!

I had the worst tooth ache in my life recently. I contacted Dr. Zwart. She got me in quickly, diagnosed the problem, and got me the appropriate treatment. My problem was resolved in a couple of hours. She has been my primary dentist for several years. She explains what's going on and is very gentle in her treatment. I am very satisfied with her care.

Dr Zwart and her staff are consistently friendly, professional, and also fun to visit! After 69 years of dental problems, I have finally found a practice that goes above and beyond to treat my problems. Most highly recommended.

Dr. Zwart and staff at Hawkeye Family Dental are friendly, welcoming, and very professional. One time I woke up with excruciating pain on a day where the office was closed, so I called the emergency number and left a message. A few minutes later Dr. Zwart called me back, and within an hour she met me at the office. I had always felt well taken care of at Hawkeye Family Dental, and the urgency and concern with which Dr. Zwart handled my emergency set the bar even higher. I highly recommend this office to anyone needing a dentist.
