We were new to Houghton last Fall and was on the waiting list, and we got accepted within one week. Environment there is super nice, front desk is very friendly and helpful, all doctors and nurses there are professional and patient. I can't find a even better place to go here for my and my wife's teeth.

Full disclosure, I'm pretty biased as I know a number of the employees personally. That said, KD is as good a practice as I've been to. Both dentists are very talented, with great chair-side manner. Hygienists are the same. Rates are fair to below market. A couple of earlier reviews criticized the practice for not always being able to take on new patients. The reason for this is sensible; they do not want to guarantee service, particularly emergency service, to more patients than they can logistically accommodate. Any practice can only be so big and offering care beyond its means is both unethical and bad business--not an "interesting way to do business" as another review sarcastically and mistakenly suggested. That KD limits their patient numbers is a sign of their professionalism, not exclusivity or elitism. That they're often at capacity demonstrates a high number of continuously satisfied patients staying with a practice they trust. If you call and find they're currently not taking new patients, it would make sense to get on their waitlist. They keep it up to date and do offer to take on new clients when space becomes available. It will be worth the wait.

I am sure this is a good dentist, but don't try to schedule anything with them because they are not accepting new patients. An interesting way to do business.
