Hennepin Healthcare Dentistry and Oral Surgery Clinic

I was a little leery about this Clinic after reading all of the reviews. But I am glad I did make an appointment. I don't understand the negative reviews. I didn't have any problems scheduling an appointment. I went to my appointment yesterday and they were running on time. I have a great fear of dentists. Let me tell you this Clinic was amazing. My dental assistant and dentist were top notch. They addressed my fears and made me feel so comfortable. I have some major work that needs to be done and I'm grateful for this place!

I called this place to get my son in for an appointment. Which at this point would be considered an emergency. This lady ask if he’s been seen at Hennepin healthcare before. Yes, I bring my kids in for every appointment here. She goes to tell me that her system denied him as far as making an appointment because he hasn’t been in to be seen at Hennepin healthcare since August 2021. Excuse me? That was literally a year ago and he was in for a physical. So my child who has a dental emergency is denied service because he hasn’t been in “often” as she said. I will no longer bring my children to Hennepin healthcare for any type of visits. Get your staff together, train them on how to speak to patients! Ridiculous!!!!

Called to make my son an appointment and Connie (THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL CSR) told me that my son had a referral from Columbia heights dentistry I asked when we could set the appointment Connie starts talking to someone else in the background 😳 I'm like hello can you hear me? Connie says yes hold on, after being on hold for 17mins Connie gets back on the phone and says no we can't help you....Why did Connie tell me there was a referral from somewhere then?

Worst experience of my life. Abusive and obtuse "Dr.'s" and staff, who just want you in the chair as many times as they can make you. So they'll change the plans as soon as you get back in the chair. Saying they can't do everything promised. And tell you to make another appointment. All the while, you're stuck with the pain and sickness from it. They truly don't care about the patients. It's all money money money 💰

Called for emergency dental pain got the recording saying that they were only accepting new patients that have urgent dental pain, people under 12 and disabled people I'm on disability, I'm totally in pain my face is swollen I'm on hold with this this place for 22 minutes and then she gets on the phone and she tells me that the recording is out of date and they're not accepting people at all now until the end of December! It's Oct 20th! I have been trying to get a dentist for almost 1 year now. I am on disability and can't afford $1500 per root canal I need 3, this is ridiculous! The recording is out of date???? She gave me these old out of date numbers that don't even aren't even in service anymore. I understand being overwhelmed but fix the dar recording or add one say it out of date. Get new numbers. Have som compassion for people in pain! It's an awful awful awful place.

I was in the hospital for a absess was told to go to hcmc when I was released and they said they wouldnt help until November even after I told them it was creating health problems I would rate that place -5 stars if I could

I have been trying to get a dental appointment for my daughter for six months and they never answer me.

Surgeon went out of his way to cut out a "sideways" wisdom tooth that I didn't ask to be helped with at all (as a 32 year old man it actually is my choice) regardless of what their medical "professionals" say about it. I worked at HCMC for more than 2 years and it isn't rare for HCMC employees to do this sort of thing. They will make you sign a piece of paper effectively allowing them to work on any area of your mouth that they want. Want something specific done? Too bad, it isn't your mouth, it is their mouth and they will do whatever they wish. Do NOT use HCMC oral surgeons if you have a specific issue. They don't treat you like a patient, they treat you like a experiment. I had no issues with that part of my mouth my entire life. In fact they created a problem far worse than the original reason I needed to have surgery to begin with. As a former employee of HCMC I am disgusted with the Oral Surgeon and the Dentist who let him destroy my mouth...Disgusted.

Best place I've ever been. I came from Wisconsin and well worth it. The dentist and assistant were fabulous. Didn't make me feel bad my teeth were bad. Tried to make me smile and keep my mind off things. Quick and painless. Got me in the next day for emergency tooth abstraction.

Wisdom tooth extraction went smoothly and quick without any pain.

Can't get 2 appointments on the same day, dental and optical, and both on the 4th floor

- They do not answer the phone, you have to leave a message and they'll return your call within "2-3 business days" - Despite what their website says, you cannot email them - Despite what their website says, you cannot use MyChart to schedule a dental appointment, even after going through the hassle of getting the MyChart account setup - After you show up in person, wait in line to talk to someone, and make an appointment -- that appointment will be a "consult", not an actual appointment to perform the work that the two doctors before them referred you there for. ie, they're going to bilk your insurance company and you get to pay for it (and endure the pain/discomfort until the next appointment, or the one after that). In other words -- get a referral somewhere else if you can.
