Generally, Dr. Harada is a fairly skilled dentist. However, recently the poor supervision by him of his assistant resulted in a needless tooth loss of my partner. Dr. Harada allowed his assistant, not just once, but twice to mold and cement in place a temporary crown to protect a molar waiting for a permanent crown. The cementing failed both times and the temporary crown came off. Finally, the cementing was done properly by Dr. Harada and the temporary crown remained in place. However, considering that Dr. Harada is only available three days a week, returning to his office each time to have the assistant re-cement the temporary crown back on was not immediately possible and consequently left the molar for many, many days unprotected from potential damage. The tooth is now cracked and needs to be extracted after all of the expense of almost $4,000 dollars. Additionally, extracting the tooth will cost $300 dollars and electing to have an implant to replace it, at least another $3000 dollars. It should also be mentioned that great care on the part of my partner was taken all during the times the temporary crown was not cemented on to protect the tooth. But, the failures of his assistant and Dr. Harada's failure from the beginning, to do the work himself, to ensure the tooth would be professionally protected, until the permanent crown could be cemented in place, has resulted in a needless tooth loss. Dr. Harada refused to accept responsibility for this negligence and told my partner to leave his office and never come back.
