I saw the same dentist for most of my life in the Syracuse area. Even after I moved to Tucson, AZ, I'd still go back to Syracuse twice a year to see my dentist. After moving back to NY to Geneseo, I decided it was time to find a local dentist, so I went to Avon Family Dentistry since it was in network (for my insurance) and close-by. My first appointment there, they told me I had 2 cavities, which I let them fill. This was strange to me because I never have had cavities and my teeth have always been in great shape - I always go to the dentist twice a year. Then, the next time I went in, they told me I needed all this work done... At that point, I thought it best to get a second opinion, so I went to a dentist's office that my friend's mom works at. This new dentist confirmed that everything Avon Family Dentistry was recommending was unnecessary and that I have beautiful teeth. She said she was so glad I trusted my gut and came to see her because of what they would have done to my teeth in Avon. Stay away from Avon Family Dentistry - they don't care about you or your teeth... They just want $$$.
