Make sure you get a second opinion. She told me I had 6 cavities. The person who filled my cavities was clearly inexperienced, leaving me with extreme tooth sensitivities that have lasted for over one year. I saw a different dentist afterwards and when they saw my x-rays they were shocked that she said I had 6 cavities.

As a senior citizen I have been to many dentists offices and visits over my time and I will say that my visits at Dr. Gum’s offices have been the best experiences. The office staff is friendly and exceptional. The hygienists are very friendly and well trained. I always feel like I am in confident hands and have a thorough exam by the hygienist and Dr. Gum by the time I leave. I highly recommend Dr. Gum’s Dental practice.

My husband and I started seeing Dr. Gum and associates about a decade ago, and we have always had a positive experience there. From the amazing receptionists and dental hygienists, to Dr. Gum herself, this is a great group of humans and an excellent place to receive dental care. We now have two kids and they have only ever been to Dr. Gum's office for dental check-ups, and all the dental hygienists that have worked with the kids are great with them. They love going to the dentist thanks to the great atmosphere Dr. Gum and company have created.

Ever since 2014, I have been forever pleased with the service and staff of this dentist office....Wonderful staff that helped me in my journey of a beautiful and healthy smile. I am forever grateful, it boosted my confidence beyond measures. My insurance recently changed where they are no longer covered, and it was sad to learn, but I will not go anywhere else. I will still be loyal to them regardless. Can't wait to pick a plan next enrollment that will include coverage for them.

I love Dr. Gum and her team! Everyone on her staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I had to get a cavity filled recently and since it was my first one, I was a little nervous of what to expect. Dr. Gum and her team made me feel at ease by thoroughly explaining what I could expect and going the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable through the entire procedure. (They also did such a great job that I barely felt a thing! So all my anxiety was for nothing.) I would very happily recommend Dr. Gum to anyone!

This dentist office is very modern and nice environment. The dentists and receptionists are very kind. The office has a sense of calm and that is coming from someone with a lot of dental anxiety. I would recommend to anyone.

Always appreciate the attention to detail by the staff and hygienists (along with Dr Gum of course)! My insurance and credit cards were sanitized before being returned, I was given a touch free temperature check, and my hygienist had PPE to protect both of us during the appointment.

Great service and easy to schedule. One of my crowns fell off and I was able to schedule that same day to get it fixed. Fast and easy.

I highly recommend you get a second opinion before having dental work done here. She diagnoses nonexistent cavities and problems, my guess is that she does this to make an extra dime off patients.

I received prompt, professional, generous, and high quality dental care and customer service. My appointment was so refreshing in a world of apathy or shallow relationships. I am thankful for Kayleigh, Toni, and Dr. Gum.

I had a wonderful experience at my new patience cleaning appointment. The staff was super friendly, descriptive of their services, and interested in getting to know me and my family. Going to the dentist can be stressful, but I feel confident that the office of Angela Gum is looking out for my best interest. Thank you!

I recommend getting a second opinion before undergoing any dental procedures, or be prepared for a lot of pain, expense, and follow-up.
I give her 2 stars rather than one because maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. I am not a dentist, and in all fairness, she did a good job on the chipped tooth that brought me into the office in the first place. It’s still there, going strong, and you can’t even tell the difference.
However, I need to be honest about my experience, and I will try to be fair. My experience with Dr. Gum was about 5 years ago, because she was the closest dentist at the time.
Maybe it’s possible I actually did have ~7 cavities after a lifetime of no cavities and dentists telling me I had strong teeth. It had, after all, been a few years since I had been to the dentist.
Maybe she didn’t drill too close to the nerve while filling my molar, and maybe the cavity was so deep that the pain and the eventual root canal and crown were inevitable.
Maybe my dentist friend was wrong to be angry that they gave me a root canal without a dental dam and the bleach solution they used to irrigate the tooth was pooling at the back of my throat.
Maybe the next dentist I had was wrong about the quality of the fillings she gave me, and maybe the inability of my gums to adhere to the filling material on my molar wasn’t the reason why the gums there were receding on one side, causing me to need painful and expensive gum graft surgery elsewhere.
Again, maybe the pain and thousands of dollars over the years were just 100% my fault for not going to the dentist for a few years, as I had assumed then. But after coming back and looking at several recent stories of the exact same thing happening to other people, I felt like I needed to post this review.
Again, please get a second opinion before undergoing any major (or possibly even minor) dental procedures.

I was a patient of Angela about 4/5 years ago. I’m writing now because I’ve had many complications from the root canal I had gotten at her office. I was told I needed a root canal, and me always relying on the experts, I decided to go forward with the treatment. Post this first treatment, I was told I needed two other root canals. This time, a little wary I went to a root canal specialist in Columbus and he told me absolutely not to the root canals. 5 years later no problems not even cavities with the teeth she wanted to do root canals on but the one I decided to get done is constantly in pain. I’m going to the dentist to get it pulled and end the misery. Long story short, I would get a second opinion on all major or minor operations they recommend.
I have been searching for a new dental office after some bad experiences at the previous office I was going to. I was very hesitant and guarded when I came in for my appointment but the wonderful ladies up front, Megan, my hygienist, and Dr. Gum all put my fears to rest. At no point in time during my visit did I feel like I was being "sold" treatment that I didn't need, no one was polite because they had to be. Everyone was very laid-back and nice. I have definitely found my new dental office, I will be coming to see Dr. Gum and her staff from now on!

Get a second opinion. She told me I had 7 or 8 cavities (I’d never had a cavity before in my life).
I allowed them to work on half of them. After being charged well in excess of the estimate, I decided to visit another dentist to have the other cavities filled.
I’ve since been to two different dentists, none of whom have seen any cavities where supposedly 4 exist. Years later, still no evidence of these phantom cavities.
More than likely, I now have a mouth full of fillings that I didn’t need. Stay away or at least get a second opinion if you get a fishy or overly aggressive diagnosis.
EDIT in response to business owner reply:
The owner asked why I’m now leaving a review after several years. Short answer? After my last cleaning at a dentist I trust, I asked again about the phantom cavities. They said “nope, we don’t see ANYTHING on your x-rays to even suggest you have problem areas to watch, let alone cavities that need filled.”
And quite frankly, every time that happens I get ticked off again about my crummy experience at Angela Gum so I left a review to hopefully help others that may get a questionable diagnosis.
When I raised concerns in her office years ago I was simply told “we stand by our diagnosis.” So my advice to others is get a second opinion or just go elsewhere.

I was never afraid of going to the dentist before but my experience with Dr. Gum traumatized me. DO NOT go to her. She puts on a good face at first but the more you work with her the more her true colors show.

I always have great customer service from the hygienists and receptionists here. They've been really great working around problems I've had. I think my teeth are well taken care of by Dr. Gum and her staff.
