I had a chip tooth, and I needed it fixed. All they did was clean my teeth, which was nice, but didn't fix my tooth at all. Just paid $50 for a cleaning. Also, i forgot what they said on why they couldn't fix my tooth. Maybe it was the insurance.

I had braces with their orthodontic team for 2 years and when it was time to take it off my teeth were extremely yellow with permanent stains on my front 4 teeth. I told them about this and they tried to say it’s my fault but throughout my treatment the dentists were telling me my teeth looks good and i was brushing fine. Never once brought up my yellow stains. I asked them if they could schedule me for cleaning & whitening to cover it, and they tried to charge me $1400 and they wouldn’t accept my insurance for this procedure, even though I paid my ortho with insurance. Not to mention they didn’t fix my overbite all the way, just partially. My ortho treatment was incomplete and felt rushed to take off my braces even though I needed more time. Not the teeth I was hoping for and not worth the 4K I spent after insurance. I’d advise to get braces from another orthodontist and not from a small business that only cares about your money.

I used to be a client there as a child but I think maybe it's under new ownership. I called them looking for a 50 cent oral surgery for my newborn baby who is having trouble breastfeeding. I couldn't find them anywhere in stores and they would take 2-3 days to arrive from amazon and I didn't want to have to wait that long. I called them and they said they had some available but wouldn't agree to sell one for 20x it's value due to "shortages". Luckily I called another dentist office and they refused to take my money and said they were just happy to help. I wouldn't spend a dollar at a business that would turn away a desperate parent trying to help their hungry baby over a 50 cent item.

Portsmouth dental is excellent! Every time I come in they treat me with the utmost respect, make me feel comfortable and take good care of my dental needs. This last visit Sari and crew really helped me out when I needed a few fillings. Highly recommend. Dr. Turk is the bomb as well

Dr. Turk, and his assistant Dawn are awesome. Friendly, kind people. Best dentist ever. And Jesse and Mary at the front desk were helpful and very nice people. I'd recommend this dental office to any body!!!

Went in to get a tooth fixed and having had negative dental experiences in the past I’m always a little apprehensive going to the dentist. Man these guys know how to make all those worries go away. They’re incredibly personable, kind, and efficient in what they do. I highly recommend this place. Huge shout out to Sam and Dr. Bolsa (sorry if incorrect spelling) thank you for making my visit so easy and comforting. 5 STARS!!!!

Below is my previous experience… Since then we have had nothing but a negative experience including no returned phone calls. Problem with last visit I was told they did the wrong procedure. My wife had an infected tooth and they took over a month to get her in because of her medication. When I called another dentist they said her medicine should not have affected treatment. Our family has spent so much money here including 3 kids with braces I have no idea why we can’t even get a return call from them. The staff is great. Dentist is super friendly. They did make some small mistakes on my fillings. I suspect they are training new people but the dentist fixed the problems and took money off my bill for the inconvenience. Pretty sure he gave me a holiday discount on my last bill too as it was less than quoted. I’ve had a cleaning, a crown and a few fittings done. The hygienist was super awesome bye fastest cleaning ever. I’m terrible with remembering names at the dr as I have high health settings anxiety. This place is really relaxed and comfortable.

This is a great clinic that I completely trust with all my dental needs. Chandra Green is the best hygienist and I strongly recommend for all people looking for a new dental home.

TL;DR Dr. Hawthorne gave me a botched filling and refused to fix it on either of my two follow-up visits. I went to Portsmouth Dental Care this spring to get checked out because it had been way too long since my last cleaning and they were near my apartment. They took an x-ray and booked me to get a million cavities filled over two appointments in May 2022. About a month after my second appointment one of my fillings was still hurting so I went in to have Dr. Hawthorne look at it and he grinded it down some more and told me to come back if it was still hurting in a week. It was absolutely still hurting a week later so I went back and went in at the time that the clinic asked me to. I had to wait an entire hour past my appointment time just to be seen and by the time Dr. Hawthorne made it to me he clearly wasn't paying attention to a word I said (example: I told him my filling hurt most when I ate crunchier foods and he repeated back "so your tooth's feeling crunchy?"). He did the exact same thing he did to "fix" my filling in the previous appointment, which was to grind the filling down some more. I asked him how doing the exact same thing that didn't work last time was going to fix it this time and he just brushed me off. December 2022 and my tooth still hurts if I eat or drink something too cold but I can't see a new dentist until next year since they used up my entire dental insurance for the year (but they still somehow billed me $1,400 out of pocket). Anyway I'm poor and my mouth hurts, stay away.

I love that this dental office is very informative and it's not a big push to get everything done under pressure. Friendly staff, Dawn was so friendly and helpful. My favorite thing about Portsmouth Dental is the longevity of their business, this tells me that the business is trusted by many. Thank You Portsmouth Dental for making feel at ease.

Great care. The person who did my cleaning was great! Super gentle and we had a great conversation. I would recommend this office to anyone looking a for a dentist in the Portland area.

Always have a fantastic experience here. Super friendly receptionists, hygienists and doctors. Always leave feeling heard and respected. Super clean establishment. Parking is tight, but at least there's parking. And they're not too far away from where I live. Have been a patient for the past 2 years and will continue to go back.

Dr Turk has the biggest heart in addition to his top technical skills. He was so empathic and caring during my mouth cancer journey, a friend in need while dealing with all the oncologists and procedures.
