Dr. Jim Krippaehne and his team at West End Dental are absolutely the BEST! Dr. Jim possesses not only the cutting-edge Science of Dentistry, but also the exquisite Art of Dentistry. He practices with outstanding expertise, knowledge, skills, experiences after additional and continuous expert training, including sleep dentistry and other specialized aspects. He and his team deliver superb, kind, effective and efficient dental care in the most accommodating patient-friendly manner. About 2 years ago, I was referred to Dr. Krippaehne by my Sleep Medicine Specialist (Dr. Scott Fromherz, MD, at Westside Sleep Center), and these 2 doctors (with both of their wonderful staff, especially Polly at Dr. Krippaehne, the most knowledgeable, thorough and professional in taking great care of everything, from getting past records to medical insurance approval, etc.) work very well together to take care of my complex Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and associated problems. I am very grateful for all their genuine care, compassion and wonderful services!!

The tooth replacement was so easy! No pain through any of the procedures and the staff could not have been better. I now have a tooth where one was missing for many years and I couldn't be more happy! Thank you Dr. Jim and staff for my new and improved smile!

I went to West End Dental to have a mouth guard made to help stop my snoring. The entire process was extremely easy and painless. After getting my mouth guard, they took the time to ensure it fit properly and made sure I left knowing exactly how to use it. It has made a huge difference and is so much more comfortable to wear vs the ones you buy online. Everyone in the office was always extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend West End Dental to anyone!

After much thought, and with a very heavy heart, I reluctantly have decided to change dentists to one whose office is closer to my home in Southwest Portland. I have been a patient of Dr. Krippaehne for 20 years and benefited from his expertise and painless dentistry. He and Polly are like good friends, and I will sincerely miss them.

Outstanding office - a very kind staff, and a superb dentist in Dr Kripphaene. Procedures are painless, and every result has been perfect. He has taken care of many different problems over the years and results have always been flawless.

The staff was gracious and knowledgeable from check in to assistants. Dr K is professional and excellent in explaining conditions, options and expected outcomes. My expectations of technical expertise were exceeded. Followup was productive and very cordial.

Dr. Jim has taken care of three generations of my family. He is personable and professional. It is like going to a spa for your teeth. Tip: Make sure to try the chocolate brownie flavored tooth polish when you get your teeth cleaned. It’s better than you expect. 😁

Excellent dentistry

Dr. Jim Krippaehne is the best dentist. He is qualified and capable of doing more than basic dentistry. He did an implant for me 6 years ago. It was painless, I had no issues and the implant is doing great. I don't even live in the area any longer, but still come up each summer to get my annual exam from Jim.

I can’t recommend this group of amazing healthcare professionals enough! The office is beautiful and clean. Julie, Fergie & Brandon at the front desk always made sure to make me feel comfortable and informed. Little things like Chantel always making sure my lips had chapstick on them while I had the retractors in as Dr. K worked his magic, to staff members remembering small details about my work and personal life, really made me feel like I wasn’t just any old patient. The team there fixed a tooth I had been so insecure about after an injury I sustained and I can truly say, they changed my life! If you’re looking for A+ service and amazing dentistry...look no further!!! I love you guys!!!

West End Dental provides the best dental care I have ever received. After a terrible experience at a large chain dentist where I felt forced to walk away after years of pain and loss of trust I was recommended to West End Dental and Dr. Jim by my good friend. I have now been a patient of WED for 6 months and have felt such trust and comfort in Dr. Jim and the team that I’ve had a crown placed, my wisdom teeth removed and a routine cleaning. I would have never dreamed of having my wisdom teeth removed at my previous dentist office. Every single staff member is warm and welcoming and Dr. Jim is not only an amazing Dentist but he truly cares about your level of comfort and will listen to any concerns you may have and will go out of his way to make you feel secure and taken care of. After so many years of receiving sub par dental care I am so happy I found Dr. Jim and the team at West End Dental. I recommend them to all of my friends and family in Portland because they have changed my experience of going to the dentist from one of uncertainty and pain to comfort, reassurance and genuine quality care.
