Rapid City Smiles: Implant & Family Dentistry - Dr. Dan Graves DMD

They charged me for 2 X-rays the dental hygienist accidentally deleted. When I asked them to straighten this out and then send me the correct bill.. they sent me a bill for the three x-rays again. Then when I called financing the lady told me I was wrong. The bill was right. Then I went and talked to my insurance company who told me they did bill me for the two x-rays that she accidentally deleted. Rapid City Smiles made a mistake and blamed me. They didn’t even listen to the problem only argued with me that they were right and I was wrong. Then they continued to blame me for this fiasco even telling me to find a new dentist. I hate to be right and I’m very glad to be finding a new dentist but I absolutely deserve an apology!

New client in Nov. Dr. seemed great. Had productive constructive conversation with Dr. about care and finances. Office tells me that I still have insurance benefits to use. We want to use them before the end of the year. So we scheduled an appointment. Ended up with a couple appointments in fact. There was no PREDETERMINATION OF BENEFITS done, so costs were NOT disclosed to me up front as required by law. Anyway, I end up getting a statement. Not sure exactly how much I owe because the keep giving me different totals. Its either $624 or $714. They arent sure. So I TOOK THE INITIATIVE to call and work out some arrangements. Since the was no POD, I thought the office might work with me a little more. Unfortunately, the Dr. hired a new bookkeeper, Kay, in January. I wanted to have a civil conversation to explore options. Not at all interested in speaking to me or anything. She dominated the conversation, kept talking over me. I had to raise my voice repeatedly just to get her to stop talking long enough to listen. She has having none of it. She didnt care at all. I had intended to offer three monthly payments of over $200 each. Seemed fair. She kept talking over me so much that I was never able to make the offer. Thats the Dr's loss now. Now they dont really have a choice about the payments. I will make the regular payments to the Drs Office. Same payment amount I would have paid to care credit. AND they lost a brand new client. Sadly, the whole situation could have been avoided with a different attitude from the new bookkeeper. Its not like he's the only dentist in town. Plenty of competition out there.

Wonderful caring team. Dr. Dan placed a crown in my mouth and it was completely comfortable throughout the procedure. My bite was great immediately. I have several crowns and this is the first time I’ve ever had such comfort and ability to chew food without needing adjustments.

Super friendly and personable hygienist! I think her name was Maddy but I could be wrong. She was kind and made me feel at ease! I’m glad I chose to go here and not where I had previously been going. Thank you!

Did a filling absolute junk ruined my tooth.

At Rapid City smile Dentsit Doctor Dan is awesome I'm 58 years old woman that has high anxiety scared to death of the dentist.I had bad experience in the past Doc. Dan has been so patient and caring and I have gone to him three times now . The anxieties are subsiding he is so caring and understanding and help me. With my teeth and getting that fear of the Doctor out of my system. He's helped me so much and I just wanted to praise him and his team and God bless them all.

Dr Dan is the first dentist I wasn't terrified of. Very nice and does impressive work for a affordable price.

All the staff was friendly and caring. Great people. Dr Dan was awesome. Thanks, I'll be seeing you all again soon.

I had a tooth that was infected and needed immediately extracted, they got me right in. Went above and beyond to make sure it was still numbed properly, no issues with the extraction. Friendly and professional, this is my new guy after 35 years with my previous dentist.

This office is amazing, I needed a same day appt and they were able to get me in last minute. Turns out a recent filling just needed filed/buffed out. Dr. Graves fixed it and didn’t charge me anything. You can really tell they care about their patients and for that reason alone I am happy to be changing to this dentist office.

Got to be the best dental clinic I have ever been seen at. They make you feel comfortable and explain everything to you. Super welcoming and Dr. Graves is very nice and listens to your concerns fully. Very grateful for this team!

I was a previous patient of Dr. Jay’s and hadn’t had a chance to come in for my regular cleaning in a number of years. Recently, I needed a crown on my back molar. Dr. Dan and his entire staff were welcoming, friendly, and personable. The crown ended up being a bit more tricky than I’d bargained for, and I was in a lot of pain. Dr. Dan got me right in to fix the problem. The whole staff bent over backwards to be helpful and put me at ease. I’d recommend Dr. Dan and his staff to anyone in the area who needs a dentist.

I just want to say that I have never been to a dentist where they seem to truly care. I had a crown placed that every other dentist said they couldn't do. I had an implant to replace a missing tooth. Today Dr. Dan and his amazing team not only put my smile back together but they put the smile back in my life as well!! Thank you so much for everything!! Don't ever change!!
