Great Plains Dental

My 6 year old son seen Dr Woodbury for the first time. I was informed "he has 10 cavities and it will need to be done in 4 one hour sessions". I was also told by her "I can do this but the children's dentist has more experience". Aka go somewhere else I dont want to deal with this. I got my son in at childrens dental 1 week later. After 2 xrays to confirm he truly had "10 cavities" my son only has THREE cavities. We were informed and shown the referral sent over by Dr. Woodbury stating our son was very uncooperative at his visit. His "behaviors" were never brought up to me at his appointment. Our new dentist said he was completely shocked as he said "your son is very well behaved and was fun to talk to". He reminded us why 2nd opinions are always so important. I'm thankful my son doesn't need to go through 2600 dollars in unnecassy dental work.Needless to say we will never be going back and DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Mackenzie, Dr Schultz, and all other staff is so great! My favorite dentist to go to for myself and for my child who loves the dentist because of how they are with him and how mindful of children they can be. They do a free kids dental day once a year which is so great for the community because I know plenty of people who lack children dental they can trust and afford.

Doctor was decent and staff was friendly during my treatment. However, I was sent a bill back in June and I called to provide my HSA card to pay the bill. Months later they send me another bill for the same amount with finance charges along with a nasty letter dated 2 days after the invoice telling me to seek dental care elsewhere because my bill was over 90 days past due. When I called again to make payment I was told to call AAA Collections. This is just horrible service and due to the incompetency of your office staff to not collect my payment the first time is just ridiculous. I will take my service elsewhere Jordan!

Exceeded my expectations as always!

Allie and Heather P are both amazing hygienists, they both prioritize pt comfort and make me feel at ease when coming in. I never am worried or nervous coming to Great Plains because I know i will be given the best care possible. Dr. Ryan, Allie and heather are the reason I will keep coming back and always chose Great Plains for my dental care.

Hadn’t gone to the dentist in like 5 years and they made the experience pleasant and educational. Dental hygienist cleaned my teeth and it didn’t hurt one bit! Definitely will continue going here.

We have been going to Great Plains Dental for 20+ years. I would not ever want to change my dentist and his associates.

I can't say enough about the staff and Dr. Nelsen. Been going there for years and it's definitely the greatest dental office my family and I have been to! They are fun, polite, respectful, talkative, service is awesome, discuss options for dental treatment if needed. They are my dental family!

haven't been to the dentist in forever thought i was going in for the initial check up and cleaning, instead got referred somewhere else to take care of problems before they can do anything, then was told i couldnt drive home because i was falling asleep, i guess working overnight with sleep apnea means i have the ability to stay awake

I've seen Dr Nelsen a few times now and cannot say enough good things. He and everyone else on staff is incredibly nice, thorough, and efficient. I havent had to have anything retouched or redone, it's WAY less uncomfortable than any other dentist ive seen and they're truly so kind. My 2 year old daughter has also been seen here and she also had a great appointment. Would recommend them to absolutely anyone.

After a lifetime of bad dental experiences, I finally found one I absolutely love. Dr. Nelson at Great Plains Dental in Sioux Falls is so kind, personable, funny, competent, compassionate - just a great young man. I called with a question after a tooth extraction and asked to speak to his assistant and got to speak to him directly. I'm a nurse, and, well, that's just about unheard of in my world. I have nothing but great things to say about the rest of the staff there as well. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly, polite, and helpful. It's well worth the 2-1/2 hour drive to get my dental care there.
