I have terrible dental anxiety and they try so hard to make me comfortable/ make it a good experience. I appreciate Dania and the staff at Smyrna Modern Dentistry more than they know!

BEWARE of this place! They will tell you need a bunch of services, which you do not need and then they over charge you for these services. I had been going to this dentist for a few years and left for various reasons (rude staff, unknowledgeable staff, wait times when you have an appointment is excessive - they are always running behind) I wanted my son to leave as weel but he like that they had evening and Saturday appointments which worked good with his work scheduled. My son continued to see this dentist but then he began to have numerous issues related to his appointments, length of time to be seen once he arrived for his appt. he was running late for one appt which he called to let them know and once he arrived he was told they did not have time to see him because he had arrived 15 minutes after his appt. time, (why did they not tell him this on the phone when he called advising he was stuck in traffic because of an accident but waited until he arrived at the office?, then their dentist left and they had to reschedule his appointment three times. During his most recent six month check up he was told his root canals had failed so he needed to have extractions done, possible implants, he needed a crown, a deep cleaning and a few other things, which did not sound right so we went to have a second and third opinion and was advised he did not need any of the services Smyrna Modern Dentistry stated he needed. Not to mention the prices they were charging for said services was excessive compared to other dentists. I called the office to ask questions but they would not talk to me but did call my son and when he asked questions they gave all sorts of reason why they thought he should have the services or maybe they would need to review his x-rays again or something to the affect. My son will not be going back to this dentist after this experience. He did give them the benefit of the doubt with the other issues however this latest issue was the last straw. How ca

My rating is based off of the interaction with the office manager not any of the dentist at the practice they were awesome. My last visit I wanted to have everything squared away as far as payment plan and cost. Once I was ready to check out I was giving an higher amount then what was quoted that person wanted to argue with me and show me her screen. Then goes and get the manager who finds out the error was on their end No apology for the mess up. Then the manger Jenna wanted to argue with me on what crown to get like she’s paying for it. This was an expense that I didn’t plan on having for this year. Gina is rude and arrogant and thinks it’s ok to argue with patients educating is one thing but mashing a patient feel a certain way about the decision they are making not cool. I understand advising a patient but to argue with me once I’ve made the decision that should’ve been end of discussion no going back and forth making me feel pressured. I work in the medical field where I’m a professional and certified coding auditor for a large company so I understand insurance and how things work perfectly fine. Once everything was signed and done I guess Gina had a funky attitude because of what I selected and not allowing her to pressure me. I did my research and already knew what was best for me. Heck she don’t know my financial status to keep telling me it’s only 63 more dollars when the fee keeps increasing.

Let me start by saying there is no other place you should be going if you want quick, professional, quality dental services. I had to go twice now for some maintenance and the hygienist Dania Wears. who operated on me the whole time was accommodating and cooperative to the entire process. She assured me I was in safe hands and provided concise and thorough work. If your not a fan of dentist then try Smyrna Modern it will give you an anxiety free, comfortable, warm welcoming experience.

I haven’t gone to any dentist in so long, with a busy life and placing my children before myself- it’s nearly impossible! Chelsey at Modern Dentistry made me feel comfortable and didn’t make me feel embarrassed like other dentist in the past have. She is great and explains everything thoroughly. I have already recommended a couple people to her! 🙂 10/10! The front desk ladies are also great! The entire team throughout is great!!! They made me feel great about my dental care!

I’ve had a great experience here! Everyone has anxiety about visiting the dentist but the staff here goes above and beyond to put at ease! Dania Wear is THE BEST hygienist! She’s so pleasant and gentle, which makes those scary visits much easier to handle.

I was referred to Smyrna Modern Dentistry (SMD) by Smiles Dentistry of Hendersonville, TN for a root canal on my #14 molar. I went for a special scan of the area and sent the results to SMD ahead of my visit. The tooth had been sensitive to cold for a while and Smiles had put on a temporary cap which I was wearing the morning I arrived at SMD. The doctor tested the #14 molar but it wasn’t reacting to the cold test so the #15 molar was tested and it did react to the cold test. The doctor then recommended that a root canal should be performed on #15 so I gave the nod to proceed. Halfway through the procedure the doctor informed me that the tooth was cracked and then suggested that studies show that I should get 5 years out of the procedure. I know enough about root canals to know that they are not recommended if the tooth is cracked so that’s the reason I had the scan before I went to SMD. It seemed like the doctor was very busy that morning and was interrupted a few times during my root canal regarding other procedures. I walked out with a cracked #15 molar that received a root canal even though a mri type scan was provided days before the procedure and a capped #14 tooth that still has cold sensitivity.

How they get that many high reviews is because of 90% of the staff. The owner and main dentist is a real issue. She should just let her team deal with the patients. Just read other reviews and see that a lot of the scams were done on me. I have never paid so much to a dentist. I screwed up going here.Adding to this. Went to another dentist and looks like they may cause me a lot of money to fix their errors. Something just not right with this place.

I was having severe tooth pain from my wisdom tooth. They were able to get me in very quickly. However, the dentist wasn’t very personable. She told me I have a gum infection and didn’t mention antibiotics until I asked for them. She didn’t explain my infection or the treatment at all. The entire visit was focused on diagnosing other work I need done. I left and had to call back twice to get my antibiotics sent to the pharmacy. I called to schedule my wisdom tooth removal and I was told a price (that ended up being over double what I paid at another Smyrna oral surgeon) and told the surgeon would intubate me and put me on a ventilator for the surgery, yet no CRNA or anesthesiologist would be present. Upon speaking to several other offices, I realized IV sedation is standard practice for this procedure. I filled out a request online for someone to contact me with more information regarding the surgery and never heard back. Needless to say I went somewhere else.

It literally had been years of not smiling and confidence completely shattered with how my teeth looked before. After they put the bridge in, I can not stop smiling and my kids are smiling from ear to ear also. To say my confidence is back is an understatement. Thank you so much to everyone there!
