Abundant Dental Care of Sugar House

Just don’t go. Especially if you already hate the dentist, they’ll make it worse. It’s the upsell. Like every other one star review. Then after they can’t get you for the full amount they want they’ll rush you through and mix up every appointment, while doing bad work. The front staff is nice but that’s not worth a whole lot here. I had a two hour appointment the other day, the dentist was late then tried to rush it through in 45 minutes, but forgot a filling! Acted like she didn’t know I needed it and questioned if it was even in the plan. Rushed through that and sliced my cheek open with a buffer. Gave it one very poor stitch and an ibuprofen. Honestly it needed more. At least 3 the cut is at least 3 centimeters long. My whole face is swollen and in immense pain. Absolutely careless. Oh and I’m not done. I have to go back to her to get the rest of the work that she pushed on me. Or make them refund me. Except! The work that she’s done so far has been subpar because she knows I’m coming back to get crowns. So I’m feeling pretty stuck, and untrusting, and terrified.

I went in October 2022 for an emergency, they received me immediately and solved my problem. The doctor were very kind, even when I was 6 months pregnant. Sadly I couldn't cover the cost of the treatment at the time and I lost a tooth because I couldn't afford a root canal. I returned in February 2023 to finish a crown that they had to put on me. Those months passed and they never updated my insurance information, even though I have asked them on several occasions if they have already updated and I only get an answer that they will.

What a joke. I need reconstructed mouth procedure. 1st time I have been told that. Couldn’t fix my filling. Our family will be going somewhere else from now on.

Dr. Ahn and Kenra have taken such good care of me in the past! Unfortunately, circumstances have taken me elsewhere otherwise I'd be on their doorstep.

On 12/05 my husband went to Abundant due to a broken tooth, that now is caused so much pain. Over the weekend we did the emergency line and this practice was who was suggested. And now we are regretting this suggestion and wish we would have stuck with our regular dentist. During our visit we met with 7 yes… SEVEN different people. Which in itself is overwhelming. Second, the amount of X-rays that were took of his mouth was annoying. And finally the most frustrating, of the 7 people that we met with the insurance person and just at the perfect moment which was getting ready to do the procedure they said “oh you aren’t in network” this is a conversation that should have happened as step ONE. There is no way that someone in practice had no idea we were out of network, and had my husband not asked we would been paying $2,100.00 out of pocket. Oh and another point, all in the mean time they pulled a scheduler into the room (again knowing we were out of network) to schedule us a cleaning? They really thought we were going to return and pay out of POCKET FOR A CLEANING? Try again. All the people that we met it felt very forced and very much a scam to get our money. We will not be returning, and they for sure will not be getting our business now or ever in the future.

This place is fantastic, for those who have anxiety or have had bad experiences come here! Dr Schultes and her staff were fantastic. They helped me through it all and got everything I needed done in a timely manner. My husband also had a fantastic experience he last year. Very grateful for them! I would recommend to any of my family and friends.

They were able to work me in same day for a crown that came out. They went above and beyond to help me find one of their clinics to fix my crown. Would highly recommend anyone to see Abundant Dental for any dental work. All very friendly, professional and caring.

I went in with three wisdom tooth. They were friendly from went I first stepped in the building and offered me water and made me feel at home. I can tell these people were really genuine and cool when I was talking to them. Very positive staffs and friendly environment. I expected to be there for at least 2 hours but ended up being about 30 mins getting all my wisdom tooth pulled out pain free! I was very surprised of how quick and painless the procedure was. I recommend going to this place to get your dental needs done. I thank them so much for this.

I was very pleased with the work they did on my dental care. Dr. Batista and his assistant were both professional and funny. They always asked me as they were doing the work if I was ok. I don’t remember the Dental Hygienist name but she was just like them. I highly recommend them for anyone needing dental work done. I had 2 implants plus other things done and finally got my last tooth seated this morning. They feel great and now I can finally chew again after many years. Everyone there is very friendly and knew me by my first name when I walked in for my appointments. They also sent me multiple texts reminding me of my appointments which I very much appreciated. They are a first class dental office.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in years and was initially very nervous going in. Dr.Batista and his assistant Areli were so personable, kind, knowledgeable, and gentle and immediately helped me feel at ease, and relaxed. I got 8 fillings, 1 crown, and a cleaning all in one appointment: Areli told me what they were doing throughout the entire appointment and would frequently check in asking me if I was okay. If I even flinched or moved a muscle Dr.Batista would make sure I wasn’t feeling anything or in any pain. The amount of empathy that they both had towards me was so touching it almost made me cry! Kendra, the office manager, was also so incredibly helpful with providing me with information around a payment plan and the cost of everything with my insurance. Her transparency and honesty was so refreshing! You can tell how much everyone enjoys working at Abundant, and also how much they enjoy working with each other! Dr. Batista was singing Bruno Mars while putting my crown on, what more could you ask for in a dentist!! Thank you Abundant, I have found my permanent dentist!!

I'm an adult who is very fearful of the dentist but the way I'm treated at Abundant makes me keep coming back. So grateful for their help with my dental needs and anxiety. The hygienist Kenra is the sweetest!

My last visit they forgot to clean my bottom teeth. PSA: The Fluoride treatment is not free/included. You will be charged an additional $30. One star for having a TV in every room.

As a patient who has been to several dentists, I can wholeheartedly say that Dr. Ahn is hands down the most advanced I’ve seen. Not only does she have an eye for detail similar to that of an artist, but her work is flawless and she makes it look so effortless. It’s obvious that she is passionate about her work (I know she spends time in the lab learning technique from yet another phenomenal dentist at Abundant Dental in her free time) and that passion is what I believe produces such perfect results. There are certain types of people in this world that brighten your day and bring happiness just by having interacted with them. Dr. Ahn is one of them. She was sincerely interested in what I had to say, has a great sense of humor, and has an uncanny ability of understanding my attempts to form words during the procedure. Julianna and Zhoni were flawless and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. They were such a joy to be around and Abundant is fortunate to have them as employees. Finally, I have to say that as a facility, Abundant Dental Care is the most advanced I’ve seen and it operates seamlessly. The entire staff highly skilled and they are genuinely good people. I would never dream of going anywhere else.

Dr. Clifford is the best dentist I have ever seen he is gentle caring in the treatment for my teeth. I was able to encourage my mother to go she had put off because she said the shots hurt after she went to Dr Clifford she was able to get the dental care she needed. On top of having some of the best Dentists in Utah they have a excellent staff they always greet you with a smile and run on time I have never had to wait long. Just a great Dental experience!

If you’re looking for a sign if you can trust this clinic, here it is. I am extremely satisfied in the whole year that I have been with Abundant Dental of Sugarhouse. Everyone took good care of me everytime i go there for my appointments, start to finish, from all the lovely ladies at reception down to the drs and assistants in the cubicles. Before this clinic, i couldn’t find a dentist that I felt comfortable with discussing all the concerns i have and comfortable with in general. This one passed the vibe check right off the bat! Other reviews are stupid they should’ve asked about the prices beforehand and yeet outta there if they don’t want to avail it! Anyway, I loved that Dr. Clifford honored my requests, which is a huge deal for clients like me who’s scared of dental procedures. He’s like the tooth fairy you never thought you needed! I also love it when Kaiden is in charge of babysitting me. His energy is what i look forward to during my appointments. I also got a few spiderplant cuttings from their lounge, lol talk about sharing is caring. Overall would recommend to a friend 😂👏🏼

Been going here for a few years and it was fine. Brought my Fiancé in to get looked at, they kept telling him all these things he NEEDED (crown extensions, sinus blocker thing? Braces, whitening). 1 tooth needed to be removed, they said it would be pointless to get a crown and to just go for a full implant (WAY MORE EXPENSIVE) and even after the orthodontist said it would be pointless for him to have braces, the financial lady STILL was pushing the price for full braces, implants, sinus thing, and whitening (HE NEVER ASKED FOR). I don’t know what happened this place has been fine the whole time I’ve been, but can you stop with the money gouging? You never did it to me, so why the need to do it to my fiancé?

I'm so happy I chose Abundant Dental. They are so kind, compassionate, and professional. I'm amazed that they can do a root canal, 3 crowns, and fillings all in one day. I really couldn't be happier with Dr. Bautista and the whole team.

Unfortunately, like other customers have stated, I found that the sales tactics prioritized financial gain over actual client need. I chose to follow through and get a service that was pushed on me despite knowing that it would be out of my own pocket because they stated my insurance didn't cover it, only because I was strongly encouraged to get it by the team in-office. I recently received my EOB for services received and had some confusion as to some differences in what I'd paid and what my insurance stated was my responsibility-I learned that this discrepancy was because the procedure was considered "cosmetic only" and was an add-on that they didn't even bother to attempt to bill through my insurance. To their credit, they did double check to make sure my copays were correct after I called the office multiple times to verify. To their extreme detriment, they don't bother to double check if treatments are really necessary and don't hold good boundaries with patients in how they push recommendations for treatments that are costly and not absolutely necessary. Having been aware that the treatment was an out-of-pocket expense previously, I already sought out a professional second opinion as to if it was even something I should've done. It was not-A 50$ mouthwash and toothpaste package would have been sufficient and there were some teeth that I've since learned they should not have even used this modality on, yet I was pressured into thinking their laser treatment was NEEDED to ensure that my gums were as healthy as they could be. "You don't HAVE to but we really strongly encourage it if you want your problems to ACTUALLY be resolved" type of conversation. Incredible waste of money, pushy tactics, condescending to customers who call in with questions. The actual dentist did a great job but their sales tactics and customer service are so horrible I couldn't recommend this office to anyone. I am a regular patient at Abundant, and I find their service to have only gotten better over the past few years. Most recently, I needed specialist help and saw Dr. Bautista. He and his assistant Areli were extremely positive and confident, and carried out a quick procedure on that helped me tremendously. They also helped me with price since my insurance did not cover the procedure. Would recommend Dr. Bautista to anyone seeking his expertise!

My experience at Abundant Dental Care was not great. I was a customer of 2 years, I had multiple bad experiences with the staff and Doctor having a sales mentality about dental procedures. Pushy Sales tactics and dental care did not sit great with me. I felt it compromised the values of the staff since it felt they were incentivized to have you do procedures. Glad I stoped going, I would definitely recommend steering clear. Stay safe!
