Outstanding. I’ve had a lot of dental work done over the years, and I’ve gotta say that Dr Guthrie was as gentle and painless as any Dentist I’ve ever visited. Plus, she was crisply efficient, and got things done more quickly than I am used to. I’m generally stoically resigned about dental visits, but count me a fan of Dr Guthrie. (And as an added plus, Cocoa and Marley are great dogs to have lying around the office)

I have been to James River Family Dentistry for several visits now. I highly recommend this practice. It's a small group that gives very personal treatment. They go above and beyond to make it a non-stressful visit and are great about following up to make sure all is well. Dr. Guthrie is very thorough yet gentle and frequently checks to be sure you are still comfortable while she is working on your mouth. But really the whole team is excellent. I feel like personal treatment is their top priority.

I like going to visit Dr. Guthrie and her staff. They pay attention to my dental needs in such a way to be supportive of me as I go through the trials of aging teeth. I never feel like I am being rushed through the visit but my teeth are examined carefully, there is no rush during the xrays,, and people seem genuinely interested in me and the totality of my good health. I am (was) terrified of the dentist! Dr. Guthrie is awesome! Ally is my “Shero” she kept me calm, played music louder for me, listened and let me take little breaks. Jessica explained what the insurance process is and how it works! Sherri texted me the next day to see how I was feeling! CoCo kept me calm while I waited. She let me rub her belly and she just made me feel good. I could not have asked for a better experience after 12 years of avoiding the dentist!
