Called them because I’m dealing with a dental emergency and their website says they gladly help in emergency situations. I only have medicaid, which they take but I was told they are not taking new patients. This was after I explained that I have three chipped and cracked teeth, extreme nerve pain and my front teeth have been pushed so far into my gums that my teeth won’t go back together, meaning I can’t chew solid food. So much for them being caring and compassionate in emergency situations.

I've been bringing my 8 children here for over 20 years. I've never waited in the lobby long enough to pick up a book let alone read a sentence out of one . As soon as I check in and sit down, not even a moment later, I'm standing up to go to a room . All the doctors and assistants are so compassionate caring and comforting to each and every person / child's needs regardless of age, race, creed disability or handicap. Thank you all for your knowledge and ability to help everyone have, keep and maintain their oral heath. And reminding children and parents how important oral hygiene and healthy teeth are .

Dr. John was amazing with my son who has sensory issues. My son gets nervous and Dr. John seen he brought his owl (stuffed animal) so he said lets look at owls teeth first and actually talked and treated owl with my son. Dr. John took the time to explain everything to us in a way everyone understood. Dr.John was so respectful and wants the best for his patients. The office is so clean and staff is just the best! I believe there is not a better dentist out there.
Very let down with this office lately. Very aggressive staff. The waiting room has no toys or children’s books- they said this was due to Covid regulations however no masks are required, no social distancing measures are in place and they have 12 newspapers and 5 magazines that I witnessed many kids touching. The discussion of politics and religion between the dentist and assistant while I witnessed my sons dental work being done was extremely unprofessional. I also reported a hippa violation, as I nor my husband have waived our right to private medical information being given about our child in a waiting room full of people rather than privately. The response from this practice to another review states that “no one wants to work” which is the reason their appointments are booking out 6-8 months. So I was concerned we would have trouble finding another dentist accepting new patients but my husband and I had no trouble at all. Perhaps “no one wants to work” for this office in particular. Im sure they accept state insurance because they would be out of practice if they didn’t. Which is my guess in why their quality of care has gone down so much. The owner seems intensely conservative which must be very frustrating for him as he’s forced to take place in a socialist program in order for his business to run. A bible in a medical office is weird. And it can spread Covid just as much as a children’s book on - i don’t know teeth?

This office once was a welcoming, friendly environment to bring our kids to. They never complained about going to the dentist until the last few years. The office staff are less than kind. My biggest problem other than the dentist himself, is the waiting room which is full of political propaganda and religious material where children’s books, and toys once were. The dentist was really rough with my son, even scolded him in a very unprofessional way.
they do take state insurance which is great- everyone should have dental care, but I agree with some other reviews here that patients are treated differently based on their insurance. I strongly feel that 6 months is an extremely long wait out for an appointment to be scheduled. My son waited 7 months to have a cavity filled. It is interesting however that when our insurance switched to private our appointments weren’t booked that far out at all. It’s unfortunate they couldn’t carry over the wonderful practice originally started. We look forward to finding a new dentist. Also isn’t it a HIPPA violation to give parents medical information on a child’s dentist visit in a waiting room full of people?

Yesterday my son had a routine filling for a cavity that was needed to be filled as a mother You want to do the right thing for your child, but I was not expecting this dentist office to go beyond my consent and literally do what they did to my son, my son had a cavity that was nowhere near the root they said it was decayed, but it was not decayed It had two cavities on it that were it is able to be filled. But instead they did a routine root canal on my 10-year-old child, and then put a metal crown on a tooth instead of putting a crown on that actually looks like a tooth because of insurance they thought a metal crown would be better for a minor child’s baby tooth that is ridiculous . They ended up not listening to my child when he kept saying ow that hurts they ignored him. What really irritates me is when I spoke to a manager this morning she Was rude to me and hung up on me, I don’t appreciate a dentist office being this disrespectful to children and parents with disabilities, but I really don’t appreciate an office lying to people because that is what this office has lie more than once to me,
If you were thinking about taking your child to the dentist, I would not I am actually now as a parent looking for a new dentist for my child because my son no longer feel comfortable going to the dentist anymore.

I just want to say Dr John and his staff are AMAZING!!!!
My youngest (6) was referred here because her dentist said she was difficult. Dr John couldn’t believe it because she was a champ. Our experience was so awesome because they took such good care of her! I quickly got my other two children into see him and I couldn’t be more happy! My son (9) is special needs and they go above and beyond to make him comfortable! I would like to add we have state insurance and have never been made to feel less here because of it!

I have to agree with one of the other reviews on here where a lady stated that her child was possibly treated bad due to the type of insurance they have. She stated that she felt that maybe her child was possibly deemed unworthy of compassionate care. I would have to agree. I feel that because of the type of insurance we have, my daughter was deemed unworthy of being treated with compassion as well. I feel that this place discriminates against family’s that aren’t well off.
My daughter wasn’t the least bit afraid of the doctor or the dentist until I started taking her to Bitner Family Dentistry. Her first visit here was just fine until the second time when she had another dentist take care of her and he completely terrified her. The dental assistant in the room was just as bad, if not worse than he was. They were very, very rough with her and not friendly at all.. I ended up leaving the room and waiting for her in the waiting room, in hopes that things would calm down and she would do a better job without me in the room. I made them promise they would treat her good before I left the room because I wasn’t very comfortable leaving her alone. When they were all done and came out to talk with me in the waiting room, I could see how annoyed the dental assistant was with her. She even wanted me to feel bad for how my daughter was acting, in response to being scared to death of the dentist, due to the way they treated her! I waited a few weeks and then decided I’d call and cancel our next appointment that we had with this office, because I had taken some time to think about the way I felt and I felt just as upset after a few weeks, as I did the day my daughter and I left the office. The last straw with this place was the way the lady at the front desk treated me over the phone when I called to cancel my appointment with the office. I asked if I could talk with the dental assistant or the dentist, because I wanted to discuss a few things with them and talk about how my da
My son had some dental work done by Dr.Bitner and I am absolutely grateful for his work! My son was very scared at the first visit and by the time we left my son said “ mom I like that dentist” he also tried saving my sons teeth instead of pulling them. I would absolutely recommend him if your child is afraid of the dentist! The staff is friendly as well!

The dentist here is really friendly, funny and personable - my daughter loves coming here for her dental work! However, the receptionist (middle aged, brown hair with ponytail) that we encountered on our most recent visit was extremely unpleasant and was rude to me for absolutely no reason. Hopefully she gets an attitude adjustment, especially being the first person that you see upon entering the premises. If you're not a people person and treat patients as an inconvenience, then you should consider really a different job, instead of projecting your misery onto others.

We had a GREAT experience with this dental office. From the dental assistants to the dentist. We took our 2 and 4 year old for a routine check up and cleaning and was a little nervous for our 4 year old- he does not like hair cuts or the doctors office.. he has a melt down every time we go.. so we were unsure how the dentist was going to go for him. Right off the bat the dental assistants made it super fun for him. They sang songs, showed him all their tools and made them “fun” -they were so encouraging! I would recommend this dental office over and over! They are truly wonderful

I highly recommend this dentist office!!! WHY?? I currently lived in Kenosha Wi, I use to take my son to two different dentist in Racine Wi and both of these dentist was just not a kid Friendly dentist that works with kids that are extremely frighten of the dentist!! I had found Bitner Family Dentist and they are the best!!!! WHY because my son Receive his first cavity and they walk me Thur the process of how they can help my son with his fear!!! They have this blanket that wrap them up like a burrito!!! Yes it’s like a strap blanket it may seem bad to strap your child up but that not the case!!! My son had a cavity filling and he was just not having it at all he was fighting yelling screaming !! So they offered the blanket we try it and it work!! My son was able to clam down and was able to get his filling!! The dentist ask my son do he want him to remove the blanket my son said no he like the blanket because he feels safe!! So if you have any child/children that are afraid of dentist you should check this office out!!! Staff very nice and friendly the office is very clean!!! Mind you I’ve been going here for TWO YEARS NOW!!! I drive all the way from Kenosha to Oconomowoc that a hour and ten minute drive!!! That should show you something!!!

Dr. Bitner came to the office within 15 minutes on Fathers day weekend hauling all 5 of his own kids, to help my child who had fallen, to have emergency dental work. I am forever grateful for everything, thank you for all your help!

Dr. John Bitner and his staff are awesome. My son just recently had oral rehabilitation done and the staff were so great with making sure he felt safe and secure while me and his dad waited for the procedure to be done. I am.very happy and appreciative for them. Thank You?

My daughter is 7 years old and has had bad experiences with dentists. Dr Bitner was able to keep her calm throughout the whole visit. She needed fillings. When he sensed her starting to panic, he distracted her and made her laugh. Will definitely recommend him to anyone who has anxious kiddos.

We have had several great experiences here. We actually drive an hour to bring our children here because the staff & Dr are all so good with our children. Especially the ones that have a fear of the dentist & have a hard time sitting still.
