University General Dentists

I am so grateful that we have found this group. My adult son has special needs and needed some extensive dental work done. Everyone we have met there has made him feel so comfortable and relaxed. The care David has received has been successful and he feels so much better! He especially likes going in for his frequent cleanings now because Mac has been so great. He has been so gentle, patient and friendly with David and has given us some great advice and tips on taking better care at home. We appreciate everyone's caring and friendly attitude. I feel that we are in the best possible hands.

I have had a very long love hate relation with Dentists and Dental Hygienist. Well my visit to these folks was awesome. I had to have deep scaling done and Mac was great. He was careful about numbing me well and giving me the time I needed occasionally to clear my mouth and catch my breath during the procedure.

The tooth extraction as well was smoother and easier than any previously.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the area.

Firstly, what a comfortable atmosphere. The technology for X-rays and exams is fantastic, as you would hope for an education-affiliated office. And both my hygienist and doctor were Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and forthcoming with a nosey patient like me. The entire visit was centered on "goals" for my oral health, instead of just addressing issues for that visit.

Everyone here at the group is thorough, kind, and professional. They sincerely care for your comfort during procedures and your standard of living as it pertains to eating and dental hygiene. Mac was the dental hygienist, Dr. Alani was my doctor, and shay was Alani’s assistant, all of whom were awesome professionals. I would absolutely recommend this practice for all dental work big or small.

Never have to wait at my appointment time. The staff at UT are on schedule.

Great care for a difficult set of eroded teeth that had given me a lot of pain during the last decade. Treatment with University Dentists has been effective. Very relieved and grateful.

Mac is one of the best dental hygienists I have ever had. He is very professional and fun. Dr Lusk is also a great dentist. He is also fun. They both made me feel very comfortable.

I appreciate the quality dental care of Dr Tim Williams and his hygienist, Marjorie at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. They are friendly, professional and experts in their field of health care. I also like that my oral surgeon recommended this dental group because I trust his opinion too.

Update 2023/01 We continue to receive excellent service from everyone at this practice. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dentist or hygienist.

It is always a pleasure to visit this office. The staff and dentists are wonderful and friendly, and the care that everyone takes makes the experience as painless as dentistry can be.

I’ve seen doctor Griggs about 3 times. Each with a different dental assistant. Only the second dental assistant ever showed any competence. I went in because I had a filling on my front tooth and years later it is now giving me issues because it is bleeding. I grind my teeth in my sleep and I know it to be because I have been told so BY OTHER DENTISTS. Griggs tells me he sees “no evidence” of this even though I know it and I told him of my TMJ, which popped on queue when he tested for it, yet there is STILL no evidence. The grinding and setting of my wisdom teeth is pushing my bottom row of teeth gradually into my front tooth on the top. He still claims there is “no evidence” of this but insists we redo the filling and while we’re in there he is going to whiten it.. I agree but make clear it is not my priority I just want to stop the bleeding. After 3 visits over the course of the year my tooth still bleeds and was exacerbated by the first dental assistant who yanked the floss into my gums. That chunk of gum later came out and never healed back and made that gap between my teeth worse. It is consistently tender, almost always bleeding but at least the tooth itself is white? Lets hope it stays in. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you want to be a practice dummy for a dentist in training who constantly leaves the room to ask the resident dentist of what to do or what he recommends, ESPECIALLY WHILE YOUR MOUTH IS PRIED OPEN AND YOU HAVE A GAPING HOLE IN YOUR TOOTH. He left 3 times in one visit on top of the fact he has poor bedside manners. I’ll never go back
